Is AVB technically a Champion's League winning manager?
editI assume a player who played only in the group stages would win a medal, so does the same apply to the manager? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.123.31.154 (talk) 23:15, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
2011-12 section
editThis page is about André Villas-Boas. Two paragraphs listing Chelsea scores in prose form are not helpful to the reader. The information is summarized in sufficient detail for someone interested in Villas-Boas in a table at the bottom of this page. The detailed information is better presented on the dedicated page about Chelsea's 11/12 season. I have therefore removed the text of the section (and fixed the section title). Revision
editThis article needs some serious re-writing. It sounds as if it were written by someone who does not speak English as a first language.
Verifiability vs logic
editIn spite of having direct quotes saying he was "a 21 year old kid" at the World Cup qualifiers, it's simply a fact that he was 22-24 during that stretch. I know verifiability is policy, but this is just math. -- MichiganCharms (talk) 03:53, 15 February 2012 (UTC)

I request that false information be removed. the false text says: "Jose Mourinho offered support to Villas-Boas. "My message to the fans is I love Chelsea and Inter a great deal but I would prefer them to support their own teams and coaches," said Mourinho. Villas Boas added "I had sex with Frank Lampards Fiancée and ragged her until he bled, she loved it as much as i loved my job at Chelsea FC also i think that Doncaster Rovers are the best team in the world." He then Later added: "my penis was too large for John Terry's arse hole and i had to make sure it didn't injure him because, well frankly hes a pussy"
this needs to be removed as this is false information that someone has added.

- I can't find when that was added or removed, but its not there anymore, it will have been reverted as vandalism. You may need to clear your cache to see the changes--Jac16888 Talk 19:24, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
Don Andre
editD. (Don) is not used in Portugal and it has no relevance in said country, also Portugal is a Republic so all those titles were abolished. The article about this title(Don) says "Today, in Portugal and Brazil, Dom is ordinarily employed only for higher members of the clergy, and for superiors of religious orders, such as the Order of Saint Benedict, wherein it is also associated with the status of Dom Frater. Dom is similarly used within the Benedictine Order throughout France and the English speaking world. In France, it is also used within the male branch of the Carthusian Order." Please someone remove it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.92.71.18 (talk) 16:31, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
- I have removed it as unreferenced more than anything. Regards, GiantSnowman 16:41, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
Early life info
editI request that false information be removed. the false text says: "From early youth, Villas-Boas harboured ambitions to become a professional footballer, but upon starting school he soon found out that he lacked the requisite skills to do so. He had poor hand-eye coordination owing to a strabismus that he had developed in his left eye as a toddler, something which rendered him incapable of displaying a decent level of competence in most sports, let alone football. It was Villas-Boas' disappointment at not being able to join in games with his friends that made him so fiercely determined to succeed in football, not as a player, but as a coach. He couldn't play football, but his understanding of the game was second to none due to hours he'd spent standing on the sidelines, observing others play and analysing their performances, always seeking to find areas of improvement."
This needs to be removed as this is false information that someone has added - he suffered with strabismus developed in his left eye as a toddler and you will find that this has never been reported anywhere else in mainstream media online. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.193.102.181 (talk) 08:19, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

Please replace "something which rendered him incapable of displaying a decent level of competence in most sports, let alone football." with "something which rendered him incapable of following a career in professional sport." or "something which rendered him incapable of following a career as a professional footballer."
The text as it stands is not in a style that is appropriate for an encyclopaedia, particularly the implication that football is somehow the pinnacle of all sports.

The following text must be removed as it is completely incorrect and Andre Villas-Boas has even stated that any talk of him having poor hand-eye coordination and suffering with strabismus in his left eye as a toddler are completely false on his Wiki page. The extract that requires removing is below:
"From early youth, Villas-Boas harboured ambitions to become a professional footballer, but upon starting school he soon found out that he lacked the requisite skills to do so. He had poor hand-eye coordination owing to a strabismus that he had developed in his left eye as a toddler, something which rendered him incapable of following a career as a professional footballer. He couldn't play football, but his understanding of the game was second to none due to hours he'd spent standing on the sidelines, observing others play and analysing their performances, always seeking to find areas of improvement."
Please advise how this can be removed from his Wiki page asap.

- Done. I have made the change you requested. Normally I am reluctant to remove material without a good reason, but the sentences you wanted removed were un-cited, and thus were inappropriate for the biography of a living person. I have removed them, and asked that they not be added back without a citation to a reliable source. ~Adjwilley (talk) 18:50, 5 July 2012 (UTC)

British Virgin Islands

Run for President
editNothing here about Villas-Boas's run for president of FC Porto? Seems incredible, given the historic nature of his candidacy, and the fact that it's the only reason he is currently relevant. 2601:19C:8100:8AA0:DC63:7C58:AD9E:D008 (talk) 01:14, 9 February 2024 (UTC)
