- Harper Weekly's coverage of the story 27 May 1865... just 17 days after this event took place. When General Pritchard's grandson (Dudley Pritchard) was still alive, he showed me the adjutant general's report that was turned in to President Johnson with regard to this event. --SHLAMA 08:36, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
