The result of the move request was: Move all, and build one dab page for Andys and Andrews alike at Andrew Nelson. Cúchullain t/c 14:02, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
Requested move 31 March 2015
edit– Most of the people listed at Andy Nelson are formally identified as "Andrew Nelson" in the respective articles; there is also Andrew Nelson (author), as well as an Andrew Nelson who ran for governor of Minnesota in 1828, one who was a defender of the Alamo, one who co-founded tech company TomorrowNow, one who is currently the drummer for the band, Tiger Saw, and another who currently plays for Sunderland A.F.C. Reserves and Academy. I see no reason to consider the current occupant of the title primary against this field, and would disambiguate the article and move and expand the current Andy Nelson disambiguation page to one covering people with the surname Nelson with either Andrew or Andy as a surname. bd2412 T 13:52, 31 March 2015 (UTC)
Note: the proposed combined Andrew Nelson/Andy Nelson disambiguation page would look like this:
Andrew Nelson or Andy Nelson may refer to:
- Andrew Nelson (lexicographer) (1893–1975), missionary and lexicographer
- Andrew Nelson (author), writer and professor
- Andy Nelson (American football) (born 1933), former American football player
- Andy Nelson (sound engineer), sound engineer
- Andy Nelson (footballer) (born 1935), English footballer
- Andy Nelson (baseball) (1884–?), baseball player
- Andrew Nelson, Minnesota gubernatorial candidate in 1828
- Andrew Nelson, listed as a defender of the Alamo
- Andrew Nelson, co-founder of tech company TomorrowNow
- Andrew Nelson, drummer for the band Tiger Saw
- Andrew Nelson, footballer playing for Sunderland A.F.C. Reserves and Academy
