Hey, here is a link to the actual request for download.
Open Source for a government's military seems the most counter-intuitive move that any government can make. I believe that this is very smart/good idea...

Update licenses?
editIn the last section, I think we should update the number of licenses. As of Jan. 2020, there are 100 ATAK licensees, according to the TechLink staffer who facilitates the licensing process with the Air Force. Over 30 of them opted to be listed publicly on TechLink's ATAK page: https://techlinkcenter.org/technologies/android-team-awareness-kit-atak/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by DesTROYer22Alpha (talk • contribs) 18:08, 3 January 2020 (UTC)
Namespace discussion
editI see that in the past the article used to be called "Android Tactical Assault Kit". With release of the civilian Android Team Awareness Kit, the article's name was changed. But...it's not like the Android Tactical Assault Kit name went away. It still exists and is used for the military versions like ATAK-GOV and ATAK-MIL. One option is to make a separate Android Tactical Assault Kit article. But I'm loathe to do that when even the people developing the app still keep it under the same umbrella (plus, that's extra work). I was thinking about two changes/solutions:
- Changing the article to mention both names and refer to ATAK as a family of apps
- As far as the article's name..... It can
- Stay as Team Awareness Kit and let ATAK and Android Tactical Assault Kit redirect here as they currently do
- Rename it something neutral like ATAK (group coordination app)
I don't really have a strong opinion about the second part w/ the article's name, could go either way.
But I think the first change is pretty necessary as the the article, currently, just weirdly doesn't mention the Tactical Assault name. Thoughts? Jasonkwe (talk) (contribs) 02:39, 2 July 2022 (UTC)
- I agree. It was initially confusing to me because it was linked from a different article under the Assault name. The lack of information about it being changed led me to believe that it was simply a rebrand, till I looked further into it and learned what you did.
- I think we should do both of your ideas Cbrfield (talk) 11:37, 22 November 2023 (UTC)
