I saw that this page hadn't been created. There is a lot of information about more modern catalysts etc. that could be included to flesh it out. Some sources say that this is an oxidation of methane and ammonia but I don't think that is correct. The hydrolysis of hydrogen cyanide produces formic acid and regenerates the ammonia. The amount of oxygen used in the reaction is the same as that used to oxidize methane to carbonic acid. Gly 00:01, 4 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I will change Andrussov oxidation to Andrussow oxidation, because the name of the discoverer is only of russian origin, but after the revolution Leonid Andrussow lifed in Germany and later in France and there he used the writing with W and not with V what his publications and patens clearly show.
