editOn Vince Clark´s article it says that Andy Bell was "the forty-first or forty-third applicant was Andy Bell", here it says 36th. Which one is correct and, more importantly, does it matter? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.255.32.179 (talk) 15:14, 6 April 2009 (UTC) well now here it says he's the 43rd and on ivnce it says 36th so no idea —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.141.62.71 (talk) 04:33, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Gay/homosexual terminology
editWheras, generally speaking, "gay" refers to one's identity and "homosexual"/"homosexuality" is a more clinical term, and more antiquated, when one refers to who they are as a person (even Wikipedia's own homosexuality article uses "gay" and "lesbian" throughout when referring to the community at large, as well as acronym "LGBT" [G=gay]) I believe "openly gay" is much more appropriate wording for this article. - eo (talk) 13:22, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
- Specifically here [1], here [2] and here [3]. The generally accepted term is "openly gay". A simple Google search brings back 949,000 hits, compared to 48,200 for "openly homosexual". Category "Gay musicians" added July 2005 [4] and phrase in question added September 2009 [5] with no protest. A simple search through all of the articles contained within the "Gay musicians" or "Gay ______" (insert whatever) categories would certainly return a reasonable amount of biographies correctly and neutrally utilizing the "openly gay" phrase. There is no reason to change this and compelling arguments for "openly homosexual" should be made before reverting this again. - eo (talk) 15:56, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
Current partner
editHe introduced his current partner as his husband this week (August 2016), not sure what he was called, but probably makes the current information a bit misleading....
