edit11 stone according to Soccerbase. I've edited the main article since it now says 21! Chavster01 01:03, 30 November 2006 (UTC) Also, I think we need a citation for "His favourite food is chicken smothered in chocolate"; sadly I fear that is vandalism too. Chavster01 01:03, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
GA On Hold
editIt's certainly an OK article, but I do have concerns about it:
Lead needs to be expanded per WP:LEAD. Bit about signing with Sunderland at end of lead needs sourcing.- Expanded and referenced.
Don't we know any more about his personal life? Does he have kids? Is he married? Do we know anything more about the beginning of his football career?- This is honestly all I could find about his personal life, after about 3 hours looking too.
"after joining from Cherry Orchard, which would mean that Cherry Orchard would receive money from the move." - how much money?- Doesn't mention any figures, "New Irish international Andy Reid may well be the next big revenue earner for both Lourdes Celtic and Cherry Orchard if he leaves Nottingham Forest for the Premiership when the transfer window re-opens in January."
"He turned professional in August 1999, and made his debut on 29 November 2000 against Sheffield United and also scored." - needs to specify how many goals he scored.- Specified
"He scored a goal against Sheffield United in the 2003 Football League Championship play-off. semi-final on 15 May 2003, where Nottingham Forest lost the match 4–3, and 5–4 on aggregate.[9] He scored a 25 yard strike against West Ham in a 1–1 draw on 22 October 2003.[10]" - is this very relevant to the article when he scored? Didn't he play in any games in between - was he on the sub bench - if so was there a reason?- Expanded.
He was at Tottenham for 1 & a half years - yet only three lines? It needs to be expanded IMO.- Expanded.
Connection issue with GlobeSports ref.- This link seems to work ok for me.
I'm placing it on hold. Please leave a message on my talkpage when you've sorted out the problems. Regards, D.M.N. (talk) 18:38, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
A picture or two might help also! Govvy (talk) 12:44, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'm passing it, but I recommend a picture if you are to take it to FA-status. D.M.N. (talk) 12:55, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
"Playing Style"
editThe heading "playing style" doesn't refer to his playing style at all. It just includes comments about his weight. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.44.243.44 (talk) 02:33, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
- Fair call. I moved it out of personal life as it didn't fit there either. Maybe we should just remove it, is it an important aspect of his football career. AIRcorn (talk) 03:07, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
- Went ahead and removed the section. Retained below in case someone can think of an appropriate way to include it. AIRcorn (talk) 03:10, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
He has often been criticised for being overweight,[1] but Charlton manager Les Reed claimed that he was one of the fittest on show at a game against Everton, Reed said "He is fit. You have only got to look at the amount of running he was doing and how he was still going at the end to see that".[2]
