PIRA
editWhy PIRA, Mabuska? Gob Lofa (talk) 20:16, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
- Why not? You are the only one going around Wikipedia changing PIRA to IRA for no obvious reason than to hide the P. How is it not accurate? How does it not prevent confusion with the CIRA, OIRA or RIRA? Mabuska (talk) 16:40, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
- I don't believe I'm the only one; Snowded referenced a debate on this topic. I didn't say it was inaccurate, but it is unusual; as the Provisionals were the only IRA for most of the Troubles, there's not many bothers with the P. Gob Lofa (talk) 17:33, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
- The PIRA was not the only IRA for most of the Troubles considering the OIRA was still active up until the 90s even if at a very low-level. Take it to the Ireland WikiProject and get a proper sample of what editors think. You are the only one after all these years to challenge it. If you change anymore they will be reverted and used as a case of disruptive editing seeing as you now know it is contentious (hence this discussion) but want to disregard other editors. So once again raise it at the Ireland WikiProject. Mabuska (talk) 20:46, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
- A very low level indeed. As far as I can see, IRA is by far the preferred acronym for the Provisionals on Wikipedia. Why are you challenging this? Gob Lofa (talk) 20:56, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
- Grow a pair and raise it at the Ireland WikiProject and see if you can get a general consensus on the issue. Have some faith in your convictions. Mabuska (talk) 22:02, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
- You didn't answer my question, and shouldn't the onus be on you to raise this? Gob Lofa (talk) 22:04, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
