Research Assessment Exercise

edit

I am surprised by the inclusion of the statement "He made a complaint against the University of Manchester in 2002 claiming that it was institutionally racist because his work was not submitted to the Research Assessment Exercise." If that statement is going to be retained, there should be reference to a reliable source. What was the outcome of the complaint? Again, if it is included, that should be referenced.

In general, universities had a vested interest in returning to the RAE (now the REF) all eligible staff whose research was at the level of quality at which the university was aiming, in the Unit of Assessment concerned. Gordoncph (talk) 14:27, 14 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

I am sorry Rathfelder, I do not undersand your comment. "Its is B Major" does not make sense, is that phrase missing some punctuation? If something was retrieved on 1 October, what was it retrieved from and what is the web address? Gordoncph (talk) 08:50, 16 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
Rathfelder's comment is listing the details of a newspaper article which goes into some depth about the issues with the Research Assessment Exercise. I have added an inline reference to the appropriate part of the article. Drchriswilliams (talk) 10:03, 16 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
