Changes made by anonymous user 130.105.10.170

edit

Good day fellow Wikipedians! It has dawned on me that anonymous user 130.105.10.170 keeps changing edits that I am making. The user's edits here and in the the List of Ang Probinsyano guest stars pages consists of the removal of "[[]]" in the actors' names which are intended to create a hyperlink for the actors' respective Wikipedia pages, or in the case of the guest stars page, the removal of not only "[[]]", but also the removal of links that are intended to be references to prove the veracity of the entries listed on said page. Also, 130.105.10.170 seems to list actors according to their relative prominence and not according to how they are listed in the series or in their order of appearance in the case of the guest stars page.

From what I've understood from the rules of editing of Wikipedia, I and 130.105.10.170 may be engaged in an edit war which is not only disruptive, but also counterproductive to this page and the guest stars page.

I would like to extend invitation to 130.105.10.170 to discuss his side as to why he keeps removing both the hyperlinks and the references in said pages. As well as his rearranging of the characters' list in mannaer that deviates both their order of billing and order of appearance in the series. Gardo Versace (talk) 19:42, 11 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

The same behavior is exhibited by anonymous user 130.105.10.46. Said users would edit the Ang Probinsyano and List of Ang Probinsyano guest cast pages whenever there are changes but along with adding content, these users remove all references that prove the veracity of the content. Gardo Versace (talk) 15:23, 20 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

The plot needs to be more concise

edit

I think the plot summaries for each of the seasons should be trimmed down and made more concise than go into detail about Cardo's exploits and whatnot. Sure, this has several times more episodes than say Prison Break, but it didn't turn into a huge wall of text. Blake Gripling (talk) 00:36, 23 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

The show has received high praise from former Interior and Local Government Secretary Ismael Sueno who stated that the police force should make an example of the lead character Cardo.

Ang Probinsyano Partylist incident

edit

@Gardo Versace: I'm sorry but I cannot agree to include the punching incident involving a political organization, with a name loosely associated with this television show. This was reverted back, due to giving a "bad press" to the series, of course due to the organization's tactics to garner name recall among the voter base. Actors being endorsers of political organizations isn't unheard of but I can see why Coco Martin and Pressman being youth representatives awkwardly mentioned in the section as an attempt to show connection But ultimately this show has no relevance to the production of the film (meaning there is no effect on filming, or even citation supporting a drop of ratings).

However maybe we could revise this and move to "Sociocultural and Political Impact" section and focus on the fact that a partylist decide to bore the television series name, presumably due to its popularity and we can still mention the punching incident briefly. The show had more influence on the campaign of the partylist than vice versa.Hariboneagle927 (talk)

@Hariboneagle927: I understand and putting it that way, I am yielding to your explanation. As for your suggestion, thank you for considering to that, it at least tries to salvage as much of that part as possible, given that it was referenced as well. I've been away from the keyboard lately, but I'll try to work out that solution later in the socio-political impact section. That solution hits two birds with one stone, I guess - instead of discussing it on the controversies subsection of production and on the socio-political and cultural impact subsection of reception, we'd only need to discuss it once. Once again, thank you. Glad to be working with you.   Warmest regards Gardo Versace (talk) 00:31, 9 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Re:Kapamilya Channel

edit

Good day 120.29.118.39!

To avoid going into an edit war, let's discuss the matter of adding Kapamilya Channel as a network on the Infobox. Per Infobox:Television, only the primary network is added. That's why that field is rendered as original network. Given that the Kapamilya Channel is temporary and not permanent, it has the status of a secondary network. It is for that reason that Cine Mo! has not been added to the infobox all these years that the show is airing - precisely because it has the status of a secondary network.

Now, even if we add it to the infobox, it would only be superfluous because it airing in the Kapamilya Channel is discussed multiple times in the article. Hope this clears things up. Gardo Versace (talk) 10:23, 29 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

The original network(s) on which the show has appeared. Do not add foreign broadcasters here. Use links if articles are available.

— Template:Infobox television series on the original network parameter
I can see why would "Kapamilya Channel" quantify as an "original network". The usage guidelines in Infobox:Television, Kapamilya Channel could be an "original network" along with ABS-CBN ("original network(s)") on the basis that new episodes have aired in the Kapamilya Channel first. The wording of the guidelines, is primarily meant to exclude secondary broadcasts (Hollywood television series airing in networks outside the U.S.; or pre-broadcast stoppage ABS-CBN also airing certain programs in Jeepney TV). But in this case only Kapamilya Channel is airing new episodes of Ang Probinsyano. Maybe we should ask for feedback in the talk page of the main infobox talk page? Sorry that the note, I left there may be partly responsible for this. Hariboneagle927 (talk) 10:01, 30 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Hariboneagle927: Yeah, I guess we should ask for inputs for others on this one before we finalize putting Kapamilya Channel in there as a primary network. Regards. Gardo Versace (talk) 10:32, 30 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Gardo Versace: Shouldn’t you add the new network now since a new franchise has been denied? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.217.170.92 (talk) 03:56, 11 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Hariboneagle927: What do you think? I'd like to get a consensus first before we proceed with it 203.217.170.92 Gardo Versace (talk) 02:30, 12 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

At this point the franchise renewal is not guaranteed. My position is that Kapamilya Network is the series original broadcast network since June. Apologies, I haven't start a discussion on the infobox talk page yet. I will do this in a while. For the meantime, maybe we could add a footnote on the infobox that Kapamilya Channel is the main platform since June 13 without outrightly listing the two channels?Hariboneagle927 (talk) 03:59, 12 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Hariboneagle927: Works for me. Gardo Versace (talk) 04:21, 12 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Gardo Versace: I raised the concern with at Template talk:Infobox television and the other users agree the two networks could be listed together since Kapamilya has aired new episodes that didn't air in ABS-CBN. I'll follow the consensus here and there and make the appropriate changes now.Hariboneagle927 (talk) 07:15, 13 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Removed content from lead section (June 30, 2020)

edit

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines and the subsequent temporary closure of ABS-CBN due to the cease and desist order issued by the National Telecommunications Commission on account of its franchise expiration, the show was suspended from airing from March 16, 2020 until June 12, 2020.

The series returned to the Kapamilya Channel and Cine Mo!, pay television channels by ABS-CBN Corporation, on June 15, 2020.[1]

Proposed merge

edit

While I did not propose a merge, I do want to comment on it, given that the user who proposed it has proposed similar changes elsewhere.

AussieLegend points out in an edit summary that MOS:TVEPISODE actually says to have the duplicate listings on both season and list of episodes articles. Transclusions make the articles very hard to edit, but at least that prevents duplicate content from diverging. -- Beland (talk) 01:04, 21 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please add TV5 on the Original Network section since it start broadcast on that network on March 8, 2021. SeanJ 2007 (talk) 09:55, 9 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Not done: Original network means the network/channel where the series first aired, not every network the show is aired. Since the ABS-CBN network was shut down, new episodes has been broadcast in the Kapamilya Channel since then. This would make the Kapamilya Channel an original network. TV5 is not an "original network" since it is just broadcasting the same content or what we call a simulcast. ABS-CBN just gave TV5 rights to broadcast the show on their network.Hariboneagle927 (talk) 10:48, 9 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
