Do you think this should be mentioned in the lead of the article if it is his legal name? http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/socceroos-squad-features-players-with-heritage-from-many-parts-of-the-world/story-fnia3gmi-1226949838531?nk=06f872ad3c1fbbccb8c9b666c48c5611 - 58.107.18.167 (talk) 12:29, 1 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Whittlesea/Moreland Zebras

edit

Apparently after he left his Greek side he managed Whittlesea Zebras in the Victorian NPL, it's not listed in his page anywhere? He joined in round 5 but couldn't stop them being relegated. Should this at least be in his list of clubs managed? Well spotted, yes should be listed. Macosal (talk) 00:01, 17 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Ange is not the first Australian coach to win a continental title. Raul Blanco and Frank Farina (Twice) both coached Australia to Oceania Cup wins. The Oceania Cup is a continental title of the Oceania Confederation. 124.148.209.26 (talk) 14:55, 16 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Ange is not the first Australian manager to win a European league title. That honour belongs to Anthony Limbrick who took The New Saints to the Welsh league title several months earlier. 139.216.232.127 (talk) 10:19, 13 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

This claim is still incorrect. Just because you have quoted some dodgy newspaper article making thesame incorrect claim does not change the fact! 110.145.155.222 (talk) 08:42, 7 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Winning the Welsh League is not a European honour! Govvy (talk) 09:21, 7 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
We are not talking about a 'European Honour We are talking about a European league title. 1. Wikipedia is inconsistent as the same claim is made on two Wikipedia pages. 2. It should specify men's title as the current Juventus womens head coach won the WSL title with Arsenal way before Anthony or Ange. 139.216.232.127 (talk) 22:13, 7 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

The pronunciation key says ˌpɒstəkɒˈɡluː indicating primary stress on the final syllable, when it should be ˌpɒstəˈkɒɡluː with primary stress on the penultimate syllable. Nationality

edit

Can we please discuss this nationality thing rather than just reverting each other? I can't see anything in MOS:ETHNICITY which supports not mentioning Postecoglou's nationality in the lead sentence - going by the examples on that page he is clearly an Asimov case, not a Copernicus, and should be described as Australian. @Anwegmann:filelakeshoe (t / c) 🐱 21:28, 27 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Football, not soccer. As in Football Federation Australia.

Might as well permanently lock this article, because as soon as the protection is gone, I'm going to change it - just like I change it for all Australian football players :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 118.211.179.131 (talk) 11:21, 19 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

I suggest that the term "soccer manager" be amended to "football manager"

Well it's going to fall on deaf ears, because if you simply glanced upwards, it's already been explained thoroughly that the article uses 'Australian English' so 'soccer' is the correct term. PeachyBum07 (talk) 03:41, 14 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Association Football.

edit

There are currently arguments about if it’s football or soccer. I think instead of picking one; we should just pick “association football manager” as there are no other sports that go by that name (That I know of). Is this a good idea or not? PJFootball (talk) 08:48, 1 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

I think WP:ENGVAR is rather clear. Anwegmann (talk) 23:40, 1 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Add on at the end of the Yokohama F Marinos section: His work during the 2019 season attracted interest from EFL Championship club Huddersfield Town, where he and David Webb, then director of football at Huddersfield, "had a couple of long-distance phone calls" in September of that year.[1] But ultimately, the club chose not to to hire him, appointing Danny Cowley as first-team manager instead.[2] JackNattress13 (talk) 16:01, 16 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
