I'm glad to find this entry and applaud the attempt to expand this area of information. However, I believe that "Spain" is a miscategorization for this entry since Mallorca was not part of Spain at the time and could not have since the nation of Spain did not exist. The Catalans, since 2006 (see Statute of Autonomy) recognized as a nation, or the very least as a nationality, by Spain, could make better claim to Dulcert who certainly spoke Catalan as his mother tongue. Rather than play into the nationalist projects of Spain or Catalonia, I think it would be more neutral to place this and many entries like it under the category of "Iberia" which refers to the geographical region without prejudice to changing and contested national entities. Counting Dulcert and others like him to the balance sheet of Spain could be seen as following the pattern of textbooks of the Franco dictatorship which tended to claim all accomplishments as products of a unified Spain under Castilian norms while ignoring or denigrating the particular contributions of Catalans, Basques, Galicians and other autonomous groups.
