George Schwietzer

edit

In the British chess magazine of 1908 (on the cable match of 1908), this player is listed as H Schweitzer (ei not ie). Does anyone have an independent source on this? Regards Voorlandt (talk) 20:17, 24 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Chess Personalia has George J. Schwietzer, fl. 1905-1920 New York. No refs are given in this entry and I don't know if it's the same person. Quale (talk) 03:18, 25 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
American Chess Bulletin (1908, p. 84) has him as G. J. Schwietzer.Crawftrhas (talk) 19:45, 25 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Since it is a US player, the American Chess Bulletin is definitely more reliable here. Thanks for rechecking it! Voorlandt (talk) 22:12, 25 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
