Historical tag

edit

Okay, the article was tagged to have some historical review or something. Even after reading the wiki on the tag, i don't have a clear idea what they think should be added to the article...RCHM 21:11, 6 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

History of the convention, perhaps even year-by-year, would be good. Check Anime Boston for an example. By the way, sign your Talk page posts using four ~ marks. --PatrickD 18:59, 6 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
oops, thought i did. After looking at that AB article, it seems kind of excessive in details for the purpose of identifying the convention in an encyclopedic fashion. I would think it should be kept to the more momentus events to keep from getting verbose.RCHM 21:11, 6 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

There's no official history to cite

edit

AWA is working on an official history would could be cited. Obviously we are a little busy at the moment. Patrick AWA 15:51, 10 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

well, since none has appeared since this comment was left, it seems Farix decided to remove what I threw in there.RCHM (talk) 18:25, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I challenged the content of the section under Wikipedia's guidelines on verifiability, but no published sources where ever provided. Just because it came from someone claiming to be a staffer doesn't mean that the information they add is verifiable. --Farix (Talk) 00:22, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Attendance Figures?

edit

AWA makes it a big point to only cite 'paid' attendance figures, not full headcounts with staff and guests and whatnot.

I'd like to know where Farix is citing these figures from.RCHM (talk) 18:27, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Check the sources (AnimeCons.com) that are already being used for citation. These figures usually come directly from the con staff or from staff postings on the convention's forums. Otherwise, Patrick wouldn't put them up there. --Farix (Talk) 00:18, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

This Article breaks Notability.

edit

This Article references an unofficial Anime convention. Unofficial Anime Conventions (Not to mention Doushinjii sale areas) aren't part of Notability, so this should be deleted. Unless it ACTUALLY states that an Anime company funds the convention (having a representative at it for seminars doesn't count), it's not notable, so this article needs to be deleted. I mean, if the whole "Misty Con" thing can't be mentioned in the Misty article due to it being an "unofficial doushinjii corner/convention", then the Anime Weekend Atlanta thing should NOT be an article.
