I'll have a go at this one, given the entertaining connection with Hannah Glasse. Chiswick Chap (talk · contribs) 09:44, 7 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

This article is well-written and carefully cited so I shall have only a few small comments to make.

  • "Cook write Professed Cookery" -- "wrote".
  • " Cook's defence of her husband" -- who was also called Cook. Perhaps "Ann's defence ..."
  • "Hannah Glasse, who had published a cookery book," -- perhaps "bestselling" would capture the core meaning here. This might be worth repeating or indeed spelling out in a little more detail in the article body.
  • "There is no further information known about John Cook." -- Perhaps "Nothing further is known of John Cook."
  • "probably born .. , most likely in" -- perhaps drop the ", most likely".
  • "licenced tenant" -- "licensed tenant" in Britspeak.
  • "of the 972 recipes in the first edition, 342 of them" -- cut the "of them". It might be worth adding "without attribution".
  • "Booby, Juggler, Legerdemain" -- I wonder whether a little explanation of the verse might not be helpful. Wikilinking of quoted material is in fact permitted by the guideline, or a footnote could gloss some of the terms used.

That's about it from me. Chiswick Chap (talk) 11:01, 7 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Many thanks CC. All of these look like excellent additions or alterations, and I'll get round to them shortly: it's Mrs Cat's birthday today, so a short interlude until I'm able to edit freely! Cheers – SchroCat (talk) 18:39, 7 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Hi CC, I think I've covered all these, but if you think I've missed anything, or that a little more is needed, please let me know. Cheers very much for picking this one up. - SchroCat (talk) 07:51, 8 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Many thanks for another fine article, which I'm happy to pass now. I hope you'll take the time to review one or two from the GAN queue when you have a moment. Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:22, 8 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Many thanks for this, and thanks for the nudge on reviewing: I'll pick up a couple shortly. Cheers - SchroCat (talk) 08:56, 8 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
