The author of the page has translated "Bugeilio'r Gwenith Gwyn" as "Tending the White Wheat". This is not incorrect, but a more literal translation would be "Shepherding the White Wheat". The most common translation of this is "Watching the Wheat"; whilst this is quite fanciful, it is commonly used to ensure that the English words scan with the melody whilst singing in English rather than the original Welsh. |
