I wonder if anyone is in a position to give more detail on the pamphlet war mentioned? The article says that it differed in tone etc from similar 'wars', but it would be better if the article could say how it differed - was it nastier, more intellectual, or what? At the moment it is hard to make anything of the bare mention of a qualitative difference.
