Possible error
editA reader contacted Wikimedia regarding a possible error. That person gave me permission to copy the commetns here:
I found a mistake in an article and would like to report it. In your article on Anne-Louis Girodet, you have a gallery at the bottom. The seventh painting is, I believe, misidentified as "Mademoiselle Lange as Venus". It should be "The Night of Danae" - 1798, Museum der bildenden Kunste, Leipzig. Although the pose is similar to Venus, the story told is clearly Danae. Note the commonality of the mirror in this and the last picture in the gallery, the correctly identified "Mademoiselle Lange as Danae", as well as the constellation of Perseus (Danae's future son that is about to be conceived with the help of Jupiter and Eros in the painting) next to Danae. If you need a source, please check out David to Delacroix: The Rise of Romantic Mythology by Dorothy Johnson, University of North Carolina Press, Chapel Hill, 2011.
I hope someone can look into this.--S Philbrick(Talk) 01:24, 11 March 2016 (UTC)

Check out page 58, or search for "The Night of Danae". Looks like the person is correct, but I would like someone with more art credentials to make the change, which may include contacting the uploader of the image.--S Philbrick(Talk) 01:30, 11 March 2016 (UTC)
