Tony G's business holdings
editmore info on tonys business holdings including pokernews and neverwinpoker.com is needed in this article.

Guoga is director and CEO of cyperpunk holdings.[1] 2A02:2455:465:9600:18F9:3B99:1E4E:4447 (talk) 21:53, 30 September 2021 (UTC)

Howard Lederer Handshake Refusal
editI'm pretty sure Lederer didn't refuse to shake his hand "due to the arrogant nature of his play". I really don't think Lederer or any other pro would refuse to shake someone's hand just because of their style of play. It's much more likely that he refused to shake his hand due to Tony G's rudeness and his incessant table talk. Deepfryer99 (talk) 19:02, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
- That entire statement is uncited. The article should report whatever the reliable source said was the reason for the rudeness of the handshake. I added a {{Fact}} tag, so maybe it will get a citation and a clarification if necessary. Rray (talk) 20:34, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
- I added a citation that includes a tiny shot of Howard refusing to shake his hand. I reworded the phrase in the article to just say it was Tony's verbal actions that caused it. I suppose that could be tweaked to say table talk. 2005 (talk) 22:14, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Melbourne "Scam"
edit- Any mention of this scam needs to be backed up with third-party evidence from the media. Only something that would affect Tony G's ability to play poker (such as something massive like fines or imprisonment) would be notable enough to be put in the main article, because this is an article about Tony G as a poker player. In other words, stop trying to get this "shady past" nonsense onto Wikipedia because it will be reverted and treated as vandalism. JaeDyWolf ~ Baka-San (talk) 15:17, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
- Although I agree with JaeDyWolf's assessment regarding the necessity for these types of issues to be documented and cited, I strenuously disagree that there must be notability relatioship to Tony G as a poker player to be included in the main article. This is an article about Tony G. The fact that he is notable perhaps exclusively due to poker at this time does not and should not prevent other equally or more notable items being included. Otherwise, the result is a false picture.Kanapapiki (talk) 18:57, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
- As much as I'm likely wrong (I've been so before!) I was treating "Guogascam" in the same way the David Williams porn scandal was; as in, even if there was evidence, it has little to do with why he has an article. Maybe if a solid reference to Tony G having scammed people ever does surface, which I doubt, then I'd have a better idea of how to handle it. JaeDyWolf ~ Baka-San (talk) 19:29, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
- I agree with your deletions in both this case and the David Williams case but not because the information is unrelated to poker or otherwise not notable but because in both instances there appears to be a lack of credible evidence by wikipedia standards. If credible evidence comes to light that meets the standards then a mention may very well be appropriate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kanapapiki (talk • contribs) 19:36, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

I deleted the original post in this thread as it violates WP:GRAPEVINE as it doesn't even attempt to source the contentious material with even a bad source. 2005 (talk) 22:39, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
Elimination of Ralph Perry
editDo we really need that huge quote of his rant in the article? I don't think it contributes anything to the description of Tony G. Rymatz (talk) 13:54, 15 July 2011 (UTC)
- Go ahead and get rid of it. 2005 (talk) 21:43, 15 July 2011 (UTC)
