The result of the move request was: Consensus not to move to unambiguated form. Per discussion below, the best disambiguated form seems to be (Marvel Comics) — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 14:04, 20 May 2019 (UTC)
Anti-Venom (symbiote) → Anti-Venom – Per WP:DIFFCAPS. "Antivenom" or "Anti-venom" is typically spelled in all lowercase. I don't believe it requires a parenthetical disambiguation, only a clarification hatnote. However, if it retains the disambiguation, I think it should be moved to Anti-Venom (Marvel Comics) instead per WP:CONSISTENCY. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 13:50, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
- Support with a hatnote to antivenom. As nom, second choice is Anti-Venom (Marvel Comics). -- Netoholic @ 19:16, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose Anti-Venom because I don't think the character is well known enough by the general public for the capital v to indicate the subject distinctly. Support Anti-Venom (Marvel Comics) as proposed, or just Anti-Venom (comics), which is more general. Argento Surfer (talk) 13:11, 13 May 2019 (UTC)
- According to WP:NCCDAB, "Articles primarily about a publication should use the phrase (comics)". Typically characters would be (character) although most seem to simply use the comic book publisher they are from, similar to how video game characters like Marth (Fire Emblem) or Misty (Pokémon) are disambiguated.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 10:44, 14 May 2019 (UTC)
- If you review the last paragraph of Wikipedia:Naming conventions (comics)#Character articles (starts with a bold "only"), it implies the default DAB for comic characters is (comics). Wikipedia:Naming conventions (comics)#Between characters of different publishers is clear that (Marvel Comics) should only be used if there's another character with the same name from a different publisher. Argento Surfer (talk) 12:39, 14 May 2019 (UTC)
- I don't believe that is correct, it may have just not have been updated or been an oversight.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 15:25, 14 May 2019 (UTC)
You're welcome to propose a change I guess, but it wasn't an "oversight". That's been the standard practice by the Comics Project for at least seven years. The (character) DAB is a relatively recent addition that's limited to the subset of characters who 1) have an article about them and 2)had a self-titled comics series that also has an article.Argento Surfer (talk) 16:02, 14 May 2019 (UTC)- You're correct. Argento Surfer (talk) 16:10, 14 May 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose moving to an undisambiguated title. I can envision a capitalized reference to the medical topic being used in various contexts. bd2412 T 00:44, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
