The title is given the senator in the minority party who is designated the lead senator of that party on the committee. In New York State, all freshmen senators in the minority party are ranking members on a committee.
In the "Senator" section, you first say "He is the Ranking Minority Member of the Senate Environmental Conservation Committee.", then say "He served for a month as the Acting Ranking Minority Member of the Senate Environmental Conservation Committee, prior to the election of Sen. Craig Johnson of Long Island." This seems to be contradictory - he is the ranking member but was ousted as the acting ranking member?
All of your newsbank refs have changed their main domain from docs.newsbank.com to infoweb.newsbank.com. While they have not gone dead yet, it would probably be a good idea to change them over in case the website ever shuts down the old links.
There are a few issues with references and prose/MOS that I would like to see fixed before I pass this article to GA status. However, they are minor, and overall this is a very nice article. Please let me know if you have any questions. Dana boomer (talk) 02:49, 2 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Everything looks good, so I'm going to pass the article. I hope for your sake that the newsbank links are permalinks...500 articles down the drain would be heartbreaking :( Nice work on this article, though! Dana boomer (talk) 14:11, 2 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
