editA problem of this article is that it was written by an unknown author without any reference. The German study of sources I've just added only confirms the assaults in general, but not the mentioned details. Circumstances of death
editBased on my initial googling around, the literature that I found mentions two possible theories regarding his death: Falling ill with the Spanish flu, and Assassination, but also states that both are speculation as German records were destroyed.
