Who did they serve and did they have salmon(s)?
editDespite the quite large number that were built, there seems to be little info on their use, at least in the Western European records. I assume there were Soviet air corps or something similar but these were fairly advanced sailplanes, not entry level air-mindedness vehicles.
There is a stamp showing one with salmons (tip endings a bit like little tip-tanks). These were fashionable at the time but no photo I've seen shows them on an A-11. Later mod. or artist's fancy?
- Later mod, it seems: this photo shows them. Interesting that Jane's 1962 notes salmons on the A-15, which flew two years later but is not the aircraft in the photo.TSRL (talk) 10:09, 4 October 2012 (UTC)
