editBritannica's entry is very problematic and misleading. 1)Tagrit was the Syriac name of modern Tikrit which was then the seat of the Maphrianate and a flourishing centre of Syriac literature. There is no evidence of another place with that name. 2) He belonged to the West Syriac branch, the eastern would be the Church of the East. calling this branch "Monophysite" is just plain wrong.--Kathovo talk 13:55, 23 June 2013 (UTC)
