Welcome to the Apple II peripheral cards Project page!
editI'd like to establish a constant template for each of these card pages. Please use the Apple II serial cards article as the template when you dive into an unopened wikilink.
- Start with a brief paragraph describing the type of card / category
- create sections with the names of cards which will have descriptions - alphebetize these
- follow the name of the card with "ndash&" for a hyphen and then the manufacturer
- don't link the manufacturer in the section name, instead link in the paragraph description
- cards that you know exist, but don't have descriptions, put them under the "Other xxxx Cards" section - alphebetize these
- finish off with a "see also" section and include Apple II peripheral cards as the first listing
- don't get crazy with external links, only include them if they're specifically appropriate
- include a double bracketed "Category: Apple II family" tag at the end of your editing
- Insert the following text into the card's discussion page: "This article is a sub-page of the Apple II peripheral cards project. Please see Talk:Apple II peripheral cards for an outline before editing this page."
Also, for now, I'd like to keep all cards within the sub pages, thus its easier to keep track of all of the cards and individual card pages won't be speedy deleted for "non-notability". If a sub page gets too large (particularly the Apple II miscellaneous cards, we can create new, more focused categories, however we don't want too many red-linked categories early on.
If for some reason a sub-page needs to be renamed, please first note the "what links here" link under "toolbox" and make sure that appropriate changes are made. Early on, there wont be much. A redirect wouldn't be a bad idea either.
If you're going to be working on something for a while, please insert and save an appropriate Wikipedia:Template messages/Maintenance at the top of the article, so someone else doesn't do work in parallel and get overwritten. Remember don't forget to remove the template when done.
If you need editing assistance start at Wikipedia Help.
Thanks and please comment on how we can improve this, we just need to apply changes globally across all the categories for consistency. This is just a start. --PZ 23:23, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
