Rounded Rectangles
editWhat about rounded rectangles? Steve Jobs made it paramount in all his designs since the Apple II that all rectangles will be rounded and it's still seen today from the Macbook line to the iMac to iOS.

Software design motifs
editShould we include software design motifs?
Brushed metal (originated in iLife), then Aqua, then brushed metal added to Aqua, then skeuomorphism, then the Fisher Price flat UI that was horrible for accessibility and had super thin fonts, which was later mostly fixed and then brought to the Mac, then iOS-style roundrect icons brought to the Mac, and throughout the post-skeuomorphism era an ever-increasing emphasis on transparency and depth effects.
