April 21 Wignacourt Aqueduct 900 – A debt was pardoned by the chief of Tondo on the island of Luzon and recorded on the Laguna Copperplate Inscription, the earliest known calendar-dated document found in the Philippines. 1615 – The Wignacourt Aqueduct (pictured) in Malta was inaugurated and was used to carry water to Valletta for about 300 years. 1836 – Forces of the Republic of Texas led by Sam Houston defeated the Mexican troops of General Antonio López de Santa Anna in the Battle of San Jacinto, the decisive and final battle of the Texas Revolution. 1975 – South Vietnamese president Nguyễn Văn Thiệu resigned on hearing of the fall of Xuân Lộc, the last battle of the Vietnam War. 2021 – The Indonesian Navy submarine Nanggala sank, resulting in the deaths of all 53 people on board. • Mark Antony is defeated in battle by consul Hirtius in the Battle of Mutina.

John Negroponte appointment is notable?

I propose to remove this entry: "2005 - John Negroponte becomes the first United States Director of National Intelligence." I recognize that this is an important position but I don't think someone assuming the job is important enough to warrant inclusion here. Thoughts? Thanks, Hu Gadarn

Princess?

Error?

Cleanup of births and deaths

In accordance with the guidelines, I'm continuing to weed the Births and Deaths sections by removing entries for celebrities with 0-4 articles in other languages. Where possible, these have been transferred to the relevant Year in Topic articles. As well as making the lists more manageable, this will help with the globalization effort.Deb (talk) 09:11, 16 May 2017 (UTC)

Holidays and observances

I think this should be moved to the top. Celebratioins on the 111th day of the year often pre-date the dates.Bosley John Bosley (talk) 15:56, 16 December 2021 (UTC)

The 111th day of the year is encompassed by the Spring paschal moveable feast and/or preparations for Christian's Easter.
