Clarification needed: archaeologists, Arogisl and Arogast
editI repeat what I wrote between the tags here [1]: Archaeologists are not linguists and the name is a linguistic matter. Gisl and gast are usually different words meaning different things, so Arogisl and Arogast should be different names.
I haven't access to the work referred to but suspect its writer or the previous editor here may have misunderstood something.-151.177.62.155 (talk) 12:04, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
- For that matter, both the French and the German articles give a much more likely etymology for Arb(o)- ("heritage"). Unfortunately with no reference in the articles. Which is not to say that names like Arogisl and Arogast didn't exist, but they probably don't belong in this article.-151.177.62.155 (talk) 17:06, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
