Cleaning
editCleaned up the article. I think we should move away from the older version, and concentrate on the new system. Thoughts? Do we need the see also to the esri grid? Dodgens 16:42, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
No way. The Workstation software is a totally standalone system and has great historical significance in the history of GIS. The "ArcGIS" article can handle the ArcInfo Desktop functionality and development, which is another article in its own right. AML Forever! Curtvprice (talk) 19:29, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
Merged content from ARC/INFO
editESRI strictly refers to the old command-line ARC/INFO system as ArcInfo. Also WP:MOSTM suggest a non-caps name. +mwtoews 16:52, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
I totally agree -- though the reference to ARC/INFO and the term's origin belongs in the article because it has great historical significance. (ARC = GIS processing, display etc + INFO= database analysis) Curtvprice (talk) 19:27, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
