It has been suggested that Archaeometallurgy – slag analysis – ferrous metallurgy should be merged here, also the equaivalent Archaeometallurgy-slag analysis-non-ferrous metallurgy. I believe this is the wrong solution. A summary of this subject should be included in this article, but there is much else that ought to appear here, so that a pure merger would produce an throughly unbalanced article. The right solution is to rename the articles respectively to Ferrous slag analysis and Non-ferrous metallurgical slag analysis and add a brief summary of each to this article with a "main" template to provide a link. This potentially provides a tree of articles leading from the general to the particular. This was done for the modern metallurgical topics in History of ferrous metallurgy. I should stress that slag analysis is only one aspect of archaeolmetallurgy. Peterkingiron (talk) 16:22, 30 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

I was the last user to edit this page. I did some light reading on the subject, and it is my personal opinion that this article needs to be merged with Archaeometallurgy – slag analysis – ferrous metallurgy and Archaeometallurgy-slag analysis-non-ferrous metallurgy in the given locations. In addition to the merger, this page is best represented with research examples. I have added one specific example, but more need to be added.
