It was a mistake that the page was saved before translation of the content.Fernbom2 (talk) 06:36, 5 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Awesome, I'll remove the tag then. Refreshingapathy (talk) 06:38, 5 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Undo by Instawisdom is incorrect, the changes by 195.7.101.158 (not us) are more accurate then current. The company is not currently based in Dublin, thus the category tag was incorrect. The company is not, and has never been called Ardagh Glass Group, it is currently Ardagh Group (this can be seen by going to the website). It was NOT vandalism we are simply trying to correct an inaccurate page.

While we have a potential conflict of interest as we do work with Ardagh Group the current article title Ardagh Glass Group is irrelevant regardless - this can be seen by visiting their website: http://www.ardaghgroup.com Prototype Creative (talk) 13:24, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

You're very welcome to update Ardagh Glass Group, as the group's website confirms that there have been changes to its name and organization in recent years. But please stop pasting copyrighted WP:PROMO into the article, which appears to have been lifted verbatim from the company's Linkedin page. The company is a client of your company, so you must take great care not to paste marketing into its Wikipedia article: please see WP:Neutral point of view, and WP:Conflict of interest. Thank you,
If this had been stated in the first place, then it would have saved a lot of the messing around that has occurred. If you look at the revision history however, we were not the ones who made the change, we simply tried to move the page, which was undone too. As we are now aware of this, we will rewrite the article from a neutral point of view that shows the correct information. Prototype Creative (talk) 13:38, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
You were warned not to add promotional material at 12:49 at your talk page, regardless of which anonymous editor added it first. 3 minutes later at your talk page, you were warned about conflict of interest and neutral point of view. At 13:19, according to the revision history, you ignored the warnings and dumped the same promo right back in, with the edit summary "Undo by Instawisdom is incorrect. Undid the changes by 195.7.101.158 which were more accurate. The company is not based in Dublin, thus the". I see your account has now been blocked as a spam account. If you create another account to update the article, please write it in your own words, and please don't write it like an advert. Thank you, Instawisdom (talk) 14:32, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Request edit Page Updates - Ardagh Group

edit

Hi there,

I'm hoping someone may be able to help me with updating this page. Given the fact that I have a WP:COI with the page I wanted to follow Wikipedia's best practices and request that another member of the community make the updates.

As you can see from the information below, the content currently present on the Ardagh Group page is now out of date e.g. the company is no longer just a European producer of glass but a global producer of glass and metal; the company is now headquartered in Luxembourg, not Dublin; the company now has 100 facilities across 25 countries, not 23 factories in 9 countries as is currently cited on the page.

I've pieced together this updated information from a WP:NPOV. All information is verifiable through independent citations:

Ardagh Group is a global leader in rigid packaging, producing metal and glass packaging solutions for some of the world’s leading food, beverage and consumer product brands. The company operates 100 facilities across 25 countries, employs approximately 18,000 people and has global sales in excess of €4.1 billion. [1]

Starting life in Ireland in 1932 as the Irish Glass Bottle Company, Ardagh Group was incorporated in 1995 and is now headquartered in Luxembourg. [2]

Ardagh Group has locations in American Samoa, Australia, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Morocco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Romania, Russia, Seychelles, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Ukraine, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. [3]

The company produces packaging solutions for a number of global clients including Coca Cola, Heineken, Nestle, Heinz, Kraft, Danone, Unilever, Procter and Gamble and L’Oreal among other consumer brands. [4]

Ardagh Group has grown considerably over the past two years due to a number of large acquisitions. In 2011, the company acquired European can manufacturer Impress for €1.7bn, marking an expansion into the metal packaging business. This was followed by the acquisition of Italian-based can maker Fi Par in March 2011 for €125m.

In 2012 Ardagh Group bought the Boxal group of companies from European aluminium can producer Exal in a deal worth €85 million. [5]

In 2012, Ardagh Group bought two U.S based glass companies – New Jersey-based Leone Industries for €151 million and the Florida-based Anchor Glass Container Corporation for €721 million. [6] [7]

In January 2013, Cie. De Saint Gobain SA agreed to sell the U.S. business of its Verallia glass bottle and jar unit to Ardagh Group for $1.7 million. This purchase of Verallia North America will increase Ardagh Group’s glass business globally by 60%. [8]

Any assistance that can be provided will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

  • "Solutions," "leading," "globally" and excessive client lists (among other items) are promotional, but I took a first run-through at the article and I think corrected the errors you pointed out. I would encourage you to hold off on a second attempt unless you get more experience editing here, but please continue to point out any errors. CorporateM (Talk) 17:33, 6 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi CorporateM,

Thanks for making some changes to the article. Is there any way you could add some new information to the article such as the number of facilities and some of their locations as well as some clients of the company? This cited information is located in my previous post.

Also, the company was incorporated in 1995, not 1934. Many thanks.

LFay1 (talk) 08:45, 8 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

According to IndustryWeek: "founded in Dublin in 1932." This is a press release reposting and not an adequate source for clients. The long list of locations and clients aren't informative to our readers without more context and meaty, well-sourced info. But I did add the number of locations and revenue. Removal of inaccurate information

Thanks for the additions.

Would it be possible to remove the copy "and incorporated two years later" from the second line of the article due to an inaccuracy? While the first part of the sentence is correct - the company was founded in 1932 as the Irish Glass Bottle Company - the portion previously identified in quotation marks is incorrect as the company was not incorporated two years later.

Also, would it be possible to remove the sentence "In January 2013, it acquire St-Gobain's Verallia North America for 1275 Millions €" from the article due to the fact that the information is inaccurate? It is an incorrect claim as the transaction is not yet complete.

Many thanks.

I removed the incorporated and changed it to "agreed to acquire". Sorry I didn't see this. Please feel free to ping me directly or add Request Edits for future factual corrections. CorporateM (Talk) 15:32, 11 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
