Árd Fheis
editThe proper term is Árd Fheis, not Ardfheis. Feis is the Irish / Gaelic for festival or gathering and Árd means high. There is no English substitute and an anglicised version should not be usedCoolavokig 09:57, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
- You are incorrect, the Irish word Ard (meaning high) has no fada (diacritic) on it. See www.irishdictionary.ie for this. Snappy56 (talk) 06:42, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
spelling
editThe two-word spelling "ard fheis" seems to be overwhelmingly more common. What is the case for privileging the single-word form here? 2A02:AA1:160D:D65C:2817:8B4E:7FE8:AC85 (talk) 15:49, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
