some old area codes had last digit of 1
editI am seeing "pattern N0N or N1N" original pattern for area codes. I don't think this is quite right, because N indicates any single digit EXCEPT 0 or 1, and some old area codes do end in 1 (for example, 301, which then was all of Maryland, and 501, which then was all of Arkansas). Could someone revise the remark? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.63.16.82 (talk) 18:24, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
problem with an area code in a neighboring state
editThe map has a area code in a neighboring state being incorrect. West Virginia's overlay area code is 681 not 661 as shown on the map. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.72.191.175 (talk) 10:12, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
I went into the editor and changed a 661 to 681, and saved the change. I am STILL seeing 661 on the West Virginia portion of the map, but when I bring the cursor there to click on, the correct overlay code 681 is displayed. Fixing the MAP seems to be out of my hands, so will someone please fix it? Same map (with the incorrect 661 area code in W. Va.) showed up when I went to wikipedia article for area 717.

Older history
editApparently area code 610 was previously used for Canadian non-geographic numbers. See Telex and Area code 600. The history section should be updated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.165.176.221 (talk) 12:35, 2 September 2019 (UTC)
835 needs to be added to map and page name
editOn December 2, 2021, the Public Utility Commission authorized the implementation of the 835 area code as the second overlay of the 484/610 area code when it reaches exhaustion, expected in early 2023. [1] Bill S. (talk) 17:06, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
