editRugby wasn't brough to South Aeerica by British there wasn't a good amount of British immigrants in other countries except for Argentina, it was brough to ARGENTINA. Besides we are talking about the Argentinian team so I don't kbow why we have to refer to the entire continent, when they have other history, ethnic and culture.
- You can change it, if you like but it is still accurate (to my knowledge). Argentina was the first South American country to get rugby and it was brought by British migrants. Most other South American countries have hardly heard of rugby (no Britons).GordyB 20:10, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
YES gordy that was my point that in Argentina rugby is famous because of the English and Welsh immigrants during the 19th and early 20th century , but not in other countries of the Americas. And certainly in other countries of Latin America.
- My point is that it is still true that the introduction of rugby to Argentina was also the introduction of rugby to Latin America i.e. the facts are true. Whether they need to be mentioned is another matter.GordyB 22:51, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
Title change
editI recommend moving this page to "Los Pumas", in line with All Blacks, Las Leonas, etc. I think anyone looking for info on this team will search for Pumas, as they are universally known, and not "argentina national rugby union team"... ironcito 08:58, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
- The Pumas is not sufficiently well known to justify a move. Whilst the 'All Blacks' are well enough known even by people who don't follow rugby union, the Pumas are not. As for 'Las Leonas' - I have no idea who they are.GordyB 12:47, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

Argentina and the Tri-Nations
editArgentina has done all the world cup, and it's a great team as their performance in this world cup shows.I wonder why Argentina is notin the Tri-Nations?It may do progress it!Excuse me if my english isn't correct! Thanks!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.1.242.129 (talk) 19:11, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
- A lot of considerations but mostly travelling distances and the fact that their players play in Europe and would be unavailable.GordyB 19:23, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
Record v Ireland
editI've amended the stats of Argentina v Ireland games to include games played before 1990. The figures on www.rugbydata.com include only matches played from that date onwards, probably games for which Ireland awarded full caps. There were 5 games between the two countries before that date, full list shown on History of rugby union matches between Argentina and Ireland.--Bcp67 (talk) 04:47, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

Record Win Over Paraguay
editI have some doubts that the historical 152-0 win over Paraguay was a full international. According to this website it was a Argentina XV team that played [1]. However it could be a wrong information.82.154.86.238 (talk) 16:29, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

Emblem:
editThe emblem of Argentina Rugby not is a jaguar, is similar but don't is the same, the correct name is a Yaguareté, from this, born the team's nickname: Los Pumas (The Pumas), because later of the victory against the Junior Springbooks in the 60's, a South African Journalist, in front to a hard name, take the most easily options to american animal: Puma, to another form, this journalist simple calling Jaguar to the team and this never happend. Argentina v British & Irish Lions 2005 - Missing.
editThe match between Argentina V British & Irish Lions played in Cardiff in 2005 is missing from the table of Argentina matches. It ended in a 20-20 draw and was awarded test status in 2006. Am I allowed to adjust table accordingly? dorkinglad (talk)
