ArgyrocytisusArgyrocytisus battandieri – There is only one species in this genus. The article is a description of the species rather than the genus; therefore the correct heading should be the name of the species (with a redirect from the name of the genus). Darorcilmir (talk) 11:28, 15 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 16:22, 15 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Oppose. Per WP:MONOTYPICFLORA, the genus name should be used as the title for an article covering a monotypic genus and its sole species. However, there is an active discussion about modifying this convention. @Darorcilmir:, perhaps you'd like to contribute your thoughts at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Tree of Life#Guideline change proposal? Oppose: Existing guidance is to use the genus name. That is under discussion. If that changes, then a requested move would be in order.  SchreiberBike | ⌨  23:19, 15 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Oppose: Pending clarification of guideline. See Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Tree_of_Life#Monotypic_genera William Avery (talk) 23:55, 15 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Oppose: Per MONOTYPIC and the ongoing discussion that shows no consensus so far.--Kevmin § 00:20, 16 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
