Talk:Arista

Just so that you know that this should not only be a disambiguation, but it should also be part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Anthroponymy. It IS a given name. I know this one student from my school with the name Arista and that tells me that it's also a given name. This is one reason why I added a category (Given names). If you disagree, of if you think I should not have placed the Given Names category, then let me know on my talk page. Thank you. NHRHS2010 |  Talk to me  01:28, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

People can name their babies anything they want (look at Track and Trig Palin or Dweezil and Moon Unit Zappa, for example), but when we say that a word "is" a given name, we mean that it's typically recognized as one. —Largo Plazo (talk) 04:00, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Right...plus, I even noticed at least one person is even named Checkmate! (speaking of which I feel like playing chess now) NHRHS2010 |  Talk to me  12:39, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
