Mapping L.A., Los Angeles Times as a source

edit

Why is Mapping L.A., Los Angeles Times being used to the extent that it is? All of the information is, at best, from 2008. We have had a census in 2010, yet Mapping L.A., Los Angeles Times reports population data as "...in 2000, according to the U.S. Census" and this is but one area of concern. I would not dispute they are reputable figures but, that was for then and not now. I believe that we need to find acceptable sources that are up to date.
