Nothing of this in the Federal-Mogul article
Someone should rectify this. 192.93.164.23 (talk) 16:39, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
- Actually it did, but thankfully User:F-M CorpComm managed to whitewash it all away [1] - 192.93.164.23 (talk) 16:57, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
- Both the FM and the T&N articles need thorough rewrites. I have recently gained access to a decent archive of info from the 90s, so am slowly working my way towards them. Keristrasza (talk) 10:45, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
Section : Lack of valid insurance
If the Armley factory closed in 1959, how could they be in in breach of the Employers' Liability (Compulsory Insurance) Act 1969 ? The Act doesn't apply retrospectively. The Act applies to employees only - not to the nearby residents and families (who, granted, may have a case under Public / Products Liability) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.242.152.166 (talk • contribs) 23:09, 25 August 2014
- Although the factory had closed, the company continued to operate as Roberts until at least 1973 (and from 1972 it had been mandatory for firms to have Employers' Liability policies covering industrial diseases) and thereafter as part of T&N. With regard to who was covered, it was not only nearby residents and other third parties who had lodged claims against Roberts/T&N but also former employees. As the article states, in 1998 there were 263,000 claims for injury pending. Keri (talk) 08:15, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
