Made some minor corrections. I think it needs also to add information on modern armored vehicles (as AMX & T-80 main battle tanks, BMP-3 and etc.) to make this article complete. --Rohirrim (talk) 10:01, 6 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Question

edit

Hello Copperhead331! Do you have paper or digital version of Savvas Vlassis "The Unknown Soldier" (Σάββας Δ. Βλάσσης «Άγνωστοι στρατιώτες») book? If yes - is there any possibility to get scans of few pages I need from there (unfortunately my copy of the book is not with me at the moment)... Rohirrim (talk) 14:37, 6 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Re: Question

Hello Rohirrim, and thank you for your help with this article. I think I might have a scanned copy on CD somewhere, I hope I still have it! I will search, but if I don't have it, I will see if I can buy a copy from the publisher, and then send you a scan copy by email. Also, there is a new excellent book on Cypriot armoured history which has just come out by a Greek publisher:

ARMOR IN CYPRUS EVOLUTION AND ACTION AUTHOR: Ioannis Mamounidakis

In English Text

PUBLICATION DATE: April 2008 PRICE: 24 euro ISBN: 978-960-88355-4-2 DIMENSIONS: 21 x 28 cm PAGES: 120 PHOTOGRAPHIC MATERIAL: The book contains rich photographic material of about 150 photos mostly unknown and published for the first time. Also included maps and four color drawings of the principal armored vehicles of the Cyprus National Guard that saw action in 1974.

I have been unable to acquire a copy of the book yet, but will send you a scanned copy if I get hold of it.

Best wishes. Copperhead331 (talk) 18:20, 6 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Re: Question

Hello Copperhead331! Thank you for your response! Actually I need first article from "Unknown soldier" about Cypriot MTBs. I knew about Mamounidakis book (Ιωάννης Σ.Μαμουνιδάκης - ΤΑ ΤΕΘΩΡΑΚΙΣΜΕΝΑ ΣΤΗΝ ΚΥΠΡΟ. ΕΞΕΛΙΞΗ ΚΑΙ ΔΡΑΣΗ), have seen it, but, unfortunately, didn't have time to visit book store again to buy it. The price of the book is 12 euro (not 24), and you can order it from Greece by internet (see publishers contact page at _ttp://www.doureios.com/BooksEng/SalesEng.html). I hope to visit Cyprus this winter, so might be I'll purchase a copy of this book for me too. By the way, same print house (Doureios Ippos) issued second book of Savvas Vlassis - "Unknown soldier 2" with some materials on Cypriot tanks & artillery. By the way, I forgot to say, that there were also Osprey issue - "The T-34 Tank", and there were drawing of T-34 in Cypriot color scheme. I have that book and what you think, will I face copyright problems if I publish this image here??? Rohirrim (talk) 08:07, 9 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
