Missing details needed
editI have written what I know today, but there are quite a few details missing, including:
- Dates of birth and death
- Dates and details of his lectures at UCLA
- Dates of employment at IBM and HP
- Dates when he served as a CMG director
- Dates and details of the "two international conferences" quoted in his book bio
- Details of his internal IBM manual and class on probability and statistics
- Details of nomination for CMG's Michaelson award
If you know any of these, please add them. Chris Loosley 02:21, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Requested move 11 January 2022
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: Moved to Arnold Allen (mathematician). There is clear consensus to move the article per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, as evidence has been produced to show the article about the fighter garners far more reader attention. — Coffee // have a ☕️ // beans // 09:35, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
– Fighter is the primary topic with 313 average daily views whereas the instructor/writer gets 4 average daily views. Marty2Hotty (talk) 15:16, 11 January 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. — Amakuru (talk) 17:00, 19 January 2022 (UTC)
- Support - Per the primary topic from page view. Cassiopeia talk 00:15, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
- Strong support if anything the fighter is primary but a DAB at least would be an improvement[[1]]. Crouch, Swale (talk) 09:42, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
- Comment. Arnold Allen (mathematician) would be better. "Instructor" is pretty meaningless out of context. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:24, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
- Comment I am for mathematician. Marty2Hotty (talk) 12:56, 13 January 2022 (UTC)
- Support 1st, oppose 2nd, create DAB at base name. No WP:PRIMARY.--Ortizesp (talk) 14:47, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
- Comment - I do think people are looking for the fighter over the mathematician. Considering there are only two people with that name, having people make one additional click to get to the fighter would be counterproductive, in my opinion. Marty2Hotty (talk) 12:58, 13 January 2022 (UTC)
- Support in full Barring any compelling counterargument why the fighter is not the primary instead, I don't see why we would create a DAB instead of moving as proposed. No issue with choosing mathematician or a different disambiguator though.--Yaksar (let's chat) 15:03, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
- Support with mathematician as the disambiguator. It is clearly better as per Necrothesp (talk).Mozzie (talk) 10:18, 18 January 2022 (UTC)
- Support Arnold Allen → Arnold Allen (mathematician), per Necrothesp and would also support creation of an Arnold Allen disambiguation page that would list Arnold Allen (mathematician) as well as Arnold Allen (fighter). Neutral regarding the fighter becoming the WP:ONEOTHER primary topic with a hatnote pointing to Arnold Allen (mathematician). —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 03:39, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
- Support Clearly much more known than the late, obscure mathematician. The activity shows that much. Kikiopae (talk) 12:11, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
- Support, viewership math sides with the fighter not the mathematician.Maria Gemmi (talk) 12:13, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
