Proposed move to arsanilic acid

edit

Arsanilic acid (H2NC6H4AsO3H2, usually the para isomer) is the parent compound and is semi-important in organoarsenic chemistry in general. Since the use of Atoxyl as a drug is long (100y?) obsolete, this application may more suitably represent an important footnote in the article on the free acid. Disagreements and suggestions welcome.--Smokefoot (talk) 06:44, 30 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Arsenic acid distinct from Arsanilic Acid

edit

Moved sentences on the synthesis of Atoxyl (arsanilic acid) to this page from their former mislocation in arsenic acid article, which may have resulted from the similarity of the names of the two acids. Arsenic acid is a distinct substance from Atoxyl or arsanilic acid, and as far as I know arsenic acid was never used as a drug against sleeping sickness.CharlesHBennett (talk) 17:11, 6 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

I was going to complain about the style of arrows used to indicate an equilibrium expression in the 'ArsanilicTaut.png' figure, but as this figure is from smokefoot himself... I'll defer. Perhaps the convention is different in inorganic-land. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.130.81.47 (talk) 05:31, 20 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Maybe the new image is more conventional. --Smokefoot (talk) 06:37, 20 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
