Arterial Insufficiency Ulcers are an issue that plagues so much of the elderly in the United States, especially those suffering from Diabetes Mellitus Type II. Implementation of Diabetic foot and leg checks is a simple way to incorporate preventative care in regards to Arterial Insufficiency Ulcers (Ischemic Ulcers). Lede does not explain what this is

Currently, the opening sentence of the lede is:

"Arterial insufficiency ulcers (also known as Ischemic ulcers or Ischemic wounds) are mostly located on the lateral surface of the ankle or the distal digits."

That doesn't actually explain what one is. Would it be accurate to say something like:

"Arterial insufficiency ulcers (also known as Ischemic ulcers or Ischemic wounds) are ulcers caused by a lack of bloodflow to the capillary beds of the lower extremities; they are mostly located on the lateral surface of the ankle or the distal digits."?

Not being familiar with the subject matter, I'm not sure if this is what characterize arterial insufficiency ulcers, and whether it's a requirement that they occur on the lower extremities or if that's just always or generally where they happen. 0x0077BE ^{(talk · contrib)} 11:25, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
