Non-neutral wording

edit

As it stands, this article is littered with non-neutral wording (opinions, original research, and peacock terminology). It really needs a complete rewrite to remove such clangers as:

  • All this he had achieved by the age of 36
  • he was held totally accountable for the harbour defence forts in every particular, but was prevented by governmental parsimony
  • He overcame this considerable handicap with remarkable dexterity
  • These frustrations were further added to by a battle with the authorities
  • an important ten-year partnership of two strong, farsighted, determined men
  • a most bold and imaginative plan to supply water to Coolgardie.
  • This is a famous story in West Australia, as it deserves to be. A brilliant man whose work had been of extraordinary value to West Australia had died unnecessarily and in anguish at the early age of 59
  • It was a terrible loss
  • His work was not for nothing

And more importantly, everything there needs to be referenced; currently there is not a single reference to support any of it.--Gronk Oz (talk) 15:34, 12 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

One source of materialscan be found in the related article, C. Y. O'Connor. At the same time, reduce the material in this current article about O'Connor, which is already covered adequately in O'Connor's article.Gronk Oz (talk) 22:34, 12 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
Totally agree. I suggest go ahead and remove all the uncited POV material. Meanwhile, I've tidied it up, given it some sources, and linked it. Schwede66 04:00, 13 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
