Speed
editShould it be fast bowler or rather more than medium? If there is a citation for only one then maybe that should be the one that is used instead of the obituary being mentioned in parenthesis. Leefkrust22 (talk) 19:56, 10 January 2012 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: moved. Consensus is that there is no primary topic for "Arthur Conway", so a disambiguation page should be located there. I've moved the article previously at "Arthur Conway" to Arthur Conway (sportsman), as this is the standard form of disambiguation for people who have played notable football and cricket. – No WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for the name Arthur Conway. Although the academic receives about a hundred page views more than the cricketer, a Google search (incuding gbooks) presents a range of different individuals which suggests there is no clear primary topic. - Comment. Since there are only two Arthur Conways with articles it doesn't need a disambiguation page, just a hatnote on the Arthur Conway page. The two are distinguished already by Arthur W. Conway having a middle initial. We do not use middle names as disambiguators unless those names or initials were commonly used by or regarding the individuals concerned, so Arthur Joseph Conway would be inappropriate. -- Necrothesp (talk) 11:13, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
- I think you may have misunderstood the proposal. I am suggesting that this is a case of WP:TWODABS, where there is no primary topic for the name Arthur Conway. As such, I wish to move the article about the cricketer (currently occupying the primary topic spot), to a different title. Since a disambiguator is necessary in order to do this, I picked a name using natural disambiguation; a google search did suggest to me that the subject is sometimes known by this title. However I have no objection to a move to different title, such as Arthur Conway (cricketer). France3470 (talk) 12:21, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, I understand the proposal. I just don't consider there is a need for a disambiguation page. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:36, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
- So to clarify, you don't support the move because you believe the cricketer is the primary topic? France3470 (talk) 13:51, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
- Not particularly. I just don't believe in more pages than we need. -- Necrothesp (talk) 19:27, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

- Support – it seems clear that there is no primary topic for Arthur Conway. An obscure cricket player referred to by "AJ Conway" in the visible cited sources, and with full name given in the external links, can be easily disambiguated either as suggested or as Arthur J. Conway. Dicklyon (talk) 19:25, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
