Date of death of Bishop Goodwin Hudson
editI have taken the liberty of removing the incorrect date of death (1961), as I know this date to be wrong -- very wrong in fact. The Sydney Cathedral wikipage claims he was dean from 1962 to 1964, which (if he had died in 1961) would not be possible. Similarly, as he was consecrated bishop on 25 March 1960 and served for four years, before then returning to England to become a vicar at Portman Square (London), he could not have died in 1961.
Moreover, I do myself well remember worshipping at St Paul's, Portman Square one Sunday in circa. 1974; Unless my memory is playing tricks, Bishop Goodwin Hudson was the preacher, and if I remember rightly he was still the vicar. Obviously, that is "original research" within wiki definitions, but I am not using it to publish material on wiki, only to remove incorrect material from wiki, and also (as indicated above) there are other reasons (independent of my fallible memory) indicating that the 1961 date is wrong, and wrong by a wide margin.
Regret, I am not able to supply the correct date of death. I have searched without success on the Internet to try and find it. I have a copy of "Crockford" for 1995/96. Bishop Goodwin Hudson is not listed therein, so there is a very high probability that he had died prior to 1995/96. Diakonias (talk) 19:37, 23 April 2014 (UTC)
