- ... that Garretson, South Dakota, was named after businessman Arthur Samuel Garretson?
Created by SL93 (talk). Self-nominated at 02:29, 4 July 2022 (UTC).
- "Garretson bought real estate such as 1,200 farm acres, the Sioux City & Northern railway, the Pacific Short railway, factories, a Sioux City stock yards, mercantile corporations, and a California fruit farm." Railways are "real estate"? Hardly, they are companies. "A Sioux City stock yards" is ungrammatical, is it one or more than one? Gatoclass (talk) 08:42, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
- Gatoclass I'm not sure if you're just cranky, or your phrasing of the issues just comes off to me as cranky, but I fixed the very minor errors. SL93 (talk) 12:08, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
- No more cranky than usual, I can assure you :) No - that comment was just intended as a simple statement of fact. This was not, BTW, intended as the beginning of a review, it was just a comment in passing, so I've added a re-review icon to clarify that. Gatoclass (talk) 12:50, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
- Gatoclass I was almost positive that it was the latter part of my statement. It can sometimes be hard for me to tell with typed words. Thanks for your pointing out the errors. I have a question for you though if you don't mind. The stockyards in Sioux City were named Union Stock Yards, which shares the same name as Chicago's Union Stock Yards. Do you think it's necessary to clarify that it's a different Union Stock Yards in the article? SL93 (talk) 18:40, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
- Well it's up to you really, but personally I don't think I'd bother. Gatoclass (talk) 02:08, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
- Created July 4, nom same day - new enough; 2585 char - long enough; cited; neutral; no apparent copyvios; no photo. Hook at 83 char is under the maximum; interesting; and neutral. QPQ done. GTG SusunW (talk) 18:20, 18 July 2022 (UTC)
