Fair use rationale for Image:JohnMayerAsIsalbumcover.jpg
editImage:JohnMayerAsIsalbumcover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
CD album - art origin
editFyi: The art on the CD by Kozyndan was originally created as a cover for the magazine Giant Robot (see issue). The image is called "Uprisings", and you can buy a print for $15 (which I did, and adore). :) -- Quiddity (talk) 17:50, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
First volume?
editWhat is the source of the first album's material? It's clearly live, but where/when are the tracks from? TheHYPO (talk) 22:37, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
Also, "Notably, the CD is considered volume six (the last) of the series..." in what way is it considered volume six? Is this a fan declaration or something? I don't see it labelled that way on itunes... TheHYPO (talk) 23:09, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
- It was from Mayer's old blog, which no longer exists, sadly. --rm 'w avu 08:46, 13 March 2013 (UTC)
Images
editLet's civilly discuss these images, rather than keep on removing them and replacing them. It's frivolous. I note that NFCC has been noted, but "What counts as exempt under NFCC can be controversial, and should be established as a violation first. Consider reporting to the Wikipedia:Non-free content review noticeboard instead of relying on this exemption." In other words, if it's debated about whether something should stay, bring it up as a community member before deleting another editor's work. It's always easier to delete than to restore, especially when some images are difficult to source, such as these. The validity of these images is based on the fact that each of them indicates the respective album's cover. Each is worthy of being kept on that merit. This isn't a list, it's a collective album series, so the "list" argument doesn't stand, and finally, each of these albums has no merit being individually categorised or set up as its own article and a collective article is more appropriate, given the collective subject matter. --rm 'w avu 08:44, 13 March 2013 (UTC)
