Top Right Group

Hi,

Its a bit confusing. Top Right Group is the parent company for EMAP, i2i Events and 4c Group. It has its own logo and site. But when searched for Top Right Group wiki is only showing EMAP.

Little confused by why the MCN link has been removed? MCN is one of the biggest, oldest and most integral brands to Emap, so I think it should be listed, even if the previous listing wasn't listed in the right way....

Emap France holdings is about to be sold off - see latest press release. This will significantly change the company's profitability as this sector has been a loss leader for some yeas.

Are you referring to the link from the main page to motorcyclenews.com or regarding the MCN wiki article? I cannot explain why the link to mcn was removed from the main page (though i'll have a good guess in a bit.. ;) but i can explain the wiki mcn article. I asked for mcn's wiki article to be quick deleted because it is now the _second_ attempt that MCN have created a wiki article, without *any* attempt what-so-ever to:

1. Wikify the article.

2. Not copy and paste from motorycyclenews.com

The mods agreed with me and subsequently removed the article.

With regards to the MCN link, may i suggest 'magazines published my emap' is changed to 'publications owned by emap'? MCN isn't a 'magazine' as such, but a newspaper. Changing the title would allow for a link to motorcyclenews.com to be added.

Can i just make one more comment re MCN being integral to EMAP -- I don't believe this to be the case at all. MCN is integral to EMAP Automotive, but not to ECM. What percentage of ECM's published profit comes from MCN? It is low last time i looked.--Toph3r 07:33, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

I can understand totally why the MCN page was removed, due to it being a vanity page. I certainly don't disagree with that decision, but I do think that MCN/motorcyclenews.com does deserve a wiki page of some description.....

As for MCN being integral to emap, the 2006 annual report has just bee published which lists:

Telemap Group

I think this deserves a mention somewhere - in the early 1980s, EMAP were involved in a joint project with BT and Prism Microproducts, trading as Telemap Group Ltd, to promote an on-line magazine, Micronet 800 using Prestel as a distribution media.
