Stourton's doubtless admirable book seems rather a poor modern source for this historic material, which is far more authoritatively documented, eg in several State Papers, by The British Library, in Hansard, in John Sargeaunt' s Annals of Westminster School (1898), in Westminster School A History (Country Life, 1923) and in Westminster School Its Buildings and Their Associations (Philip Allan & Co. 1934), both by Lawrence Tanner MVO FSA, the distinguished Keeper of the Abbey Muniments.
