I'm just wondering, but doesn't Tisdale also dance? Informationadvocate (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 16:29, 27 December 2010 (UTC).

Edits

I've recently reverted some edits in this article since I found irrevlevant material to the page like box office results and view counts. Why are they irrelevant to this page and to other articles? Because:

1.) Box office results indicate the commercial success of movies.
2.) If they are added in a person's article, then it would imply to Wikipedia readers that the success was because of that certain person.
3.) Let's be more objective. Just like what Juanancho says, "beacuse english wikipedia is for Australia, UK and another english countries and the information is featured in the respective articles." Definitely. The box office results and view counts are located in their respective pages and it certainly has nothing to do DIRECTLY to Tisdale as the movies also include other people.
4.) The page is about Ashley Tisdale, not about what happened to her movies which include other people as well. So there's no point of bringing the fact that we accept song peaks because those songs are only credited to her and ONLY her.
5.) LASTLY, if the main goal of adding up these irrelevant material is to somehow expand the article, then I guess I could help without including anything unnecessary.

If y'all still can't understand, then I guess it's your loss. You would be editing a page with unnecessary material. Merry Christmas. Kikkokalabud (talk)

Thanks for starting a discussion. I understood your opinion but I think it's something very encyclopedic to explain how sucessful the film was. Some of the films cited broke records during their premieres and those are really relevant to all cast members. For example: HSM2 was the most watched TV movie in a night, while HSM3 has the biggest opening for a musical film. Also, the soundtrack of HSM1 was the top-selling album of 2006. I don't think these are irrelevant. To conclude, several featured articles such as Emma Watson, Jackie Chan and Ethan Hawke cite box offices. If we remove it from this article, then we have to remove it from all oof them. Decodet (talk) 19:28, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
Yes. I'm not sure box-office figures or similar things are always relevant to include in the article, but where a film has especially high (or low, I guess) viewing figures, that is a significant fact about the main actors; whether or not Tisdale was a cause of the success of the HSM films, the success of the films is certainly a large part of what makes Tisdale well known.VoluntarySlave (talk) 21:35, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for starting the discussion, Kikko! I confess that I was the one who suggested adding brief notes on reception during the peer review. Although I agree listing commercial reception for movies in which Tisdale played a minor role is unnecessary, star appeal is a major factor in movies. I'm guessing that at least half the kids who watched the first HSM movie knew "Ashley Tisdale from Suite Life" would be in it, and I think the result of her first major film (Aliens in the Attic) is notable. If she goes on to star in hundreds of movies, I don't think listing the commercial outcomes is necessary. Liqudlucktalk 21:56, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
Also, I broke your (Kikko) comment into separate lines, because, one, it was formatted that way in edit mode and I guessed you wanted it to appear that way, and, two, it makes it easier to navigate. Hope you don't mind. Liqudlucktalk 22:02, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

Jewish on motherside....?

I think the bio needs a little work: "Tisdale is Jewish on her mother's side and considers herself Jewish." There is an obvious misconception about ethnic Jews. If your mother is Jewish, you are Jewish. Period. When applying reform Jewish law, it doesn't make sense to say she is simply Jewish on a mother's side, as if that is the underlying quality that makes her Jewish. If, for instance, her father was Jewish, would she no longer be Jewish? No, she would be Jewish, ethnically. For reference, see Who is a Jew?. In any case, if your mother is Jewish, you are 100% Jew. Maternal lineage trumps all in terms of law. Even if the father was a black muslim she'd still be Jewish.

So, in light of this, I think we should axe the "Tisdale is Jewish on her mother's side" and simply state she is Jewish. Or, if someone can find a source, say "Tisdale is Jewish but does not consider herself religious", or "Tisdale is Jewish and openly embraces its cultural and religious qualities". Whatever source quoted she "considers" herself Jewish probably offers a little more info on that aspect. I'm too lazy to hunt through the internet so I'll let the fans do it LOL. Wikifan12345 (talk) 08:38, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Perhaps the wording should be that Tisdale is Jewish "via" her mother's side of the family, then. That clarifies both that she is Jewish and that it's only through one side of her family. —C.Fred (talk) 16:43, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
Plus there's this quote from her mother: "She’s not totally Jewish. She’s half — my husband’s not, so she was raised a little bit of both." —C.Fred (talk) 16:46, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
On further reflection, I guess the question is this: is it significant to the reader's understanding of Ashley to know that her father is not Jewish? The more I think about it, the less I'm sure it really matters. —C.Fred (talk) 16:51, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
The definition of Who is a Jew?#Jewish by birth is just a groups inclusion criteria that we are not obligated to follow on Wiki - even in the article there is strong indications that not all Jewish branches agree "Reform and Liberal Judaism do not accept the halakhic rules as binding". We have our own requirements as outlined in WP:BLP#Categories (the principal applies to more than categories) which basically says "the subject publicly self-identifies with the belief in question". That is the rule Wiki uses. The fact the Tisdale publically indentifies as being Jewish is both necessary and sufficient to support a belief in Judaism. Jewishness an ethnicity is no different than any other ethnic categorization and the article shows half on her mothers side. The original wording covers this all quite well and I would like to return to it. --NrDg 17:08, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
Good point. The article should probably cover both her ethnicity (from an outside viewpoint, half-Jewish, via her mother) as well as her religious views (attends at least High Holiday services). —C.Fred (talk) 17:13, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
The original phrasing mostly did that "Tisdale is Jewish on her mother's side and considers herself Jewish" although it uses Jewish to mean both an ethnicity and a belief which are separable concepts. Tisdale herself is probably not making the distinction. I was schooled on the difference in another article talk:Zac Efron#Rephrased following sentence although in that case he was ethnically Jewish that identified as an agnostic. --NrDg 17:29, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
Ok, I understand, but let's return to my original statement. If you are Jewish on your mother's side, You. Are. Jewish. It's not like one of your parents is African-American but you end up being white if those black is a dominant phenotype. Genetically speaking, she is Jewish. I think we need to clarify when she says, "I consider myself Jewish." I'm willing to bet she is referring the the religion and not the ethnicity, because even if she didn't consider herself Jewish she would still be Jewish regardless. It's inescapable. 70.181.154.29 (talk) 20:50, 2 January 2009 (UTC) Wikifan12345 (talk) 20:50, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
"If you are Jewish on your mother's side, You. Are. Jewish." - As Who is a Jew?#Jewish by birth stated and as I summarized above that statement is NOT universally accepted even by all Jews. It is not our role to get in the middle of some groups self-identification issues and we don't have to accept what they say anyway except as a courtesy. The only true statement that we can make is that most, but not all, Jews consider her Jewish because of her mother being Jewish. I don't suggest doing this in the article.

There is no official objective definition of Jewishness in US law where Tisdale resides - US law pretty much goes with self identification as the sole determinate of even race. Jew is not a recognized racial grouping. Conversion to Judaism is permitted to women so any possible mitochondrial (maternal) genetic link is broken. There is no genetic test that proves Jewishness in any objective sense.
The only things that matters in wiki are ethnicity which is half Jewish because of her mother and her stated religious beliefs which is Jewish (Judaism). The original statement in the article was sufficient to do all this and fairly importantly acknowledges multiple ethnicity, so should be put back. --NrDg 21:36, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
There's a bit of confusion here. The reason there isn't a law determining Jewishness is because it is not necessary. Being Jewish, like being African-American, can be determined by one of two things: Conversion or ethnically. The latter being far more common. Is there a law in American that states when one is African American or not? No, there isn't. How about Caucasian? No. It's personal choice yes, and one can deny it yes, but regardless of the beliefs held by the individual you are still African American/Caucasion...or Jewish. And as I said before, if your mother is Jewish, you are Jewish. There is no half, unless it's your father, but that's considering extreme and orthodox Jewish law. The user who paraphrased the statement is clearly confused because the fact that her mother is Jewish is not notable. Tisdale never said in the article that her being Jewish is unique only because her mother is Jewish. She never said that. Her mother HAPPENS to be Jewish, but it's irrelevant. It should simply be stated she is Jewish. Unless Tisdale actually made an effort and explained in her own exact words that she believes her Jewishness solely rests on her mother's side, and if her father was Jewish she would not be. Stating "She is Jewish on her mother's side" gives the false impression that that is the unique factor that makes her Jewish, and if her father was Jewish, she would not be. For comparison, see Scarlett Johansson. Her mother is Jewish, not her father, but is worded completely different. Wikifan12345 (talk) 23:31, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Ignore the African-American conversion statement...that simply isn't TRUE. LOLOLOL.Wikifan12345 (talk) 23:36, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Ashley Tisdale is of British, more specifically English, and Jewish descent (Tisdale originating from Yorkshire and the North-East of England)! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.108.170.118 (talk) 20:50, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Subdivision of her career

I understand the logic of dividing the body of her work she did before age 18 from that after. However, we need to retitle the section, since "Adult career" could be easily misinterpreted by readers. I'd just change it, but I can't think of a better alternative right now. —C.Fred (talk) 22:46, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

I have changed the section headings as "Early Life" and "Career". This is similiar to the format followed in other articles about child actors who went on to have successful acting careers as adults. For eg. Ben Affleck, Olsen Twins,Jessica Alba, and Natalie Portman. Even i was a bit incensed at having "Adult Career" as section heading, so i made the necessary changes....Gprince007 (talk) 09:55, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

I agree with you but actually there's no recent free image of Tisdale to add on her article - Decodet (talk) 14:15, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Too much irrelevant info in the article

I feel this article is leaning more towards publishing tabloid news as encyclopedic article....For Eg:

  • On December 12, 2008, she hosted the 'Z-100's Jingle Ball in the Madison Square Garden...
  • this year she host with Nick Lachey and shared stage with The Veronicas and Katy Perry...

Why is the above info notable??? Is the Jingle Ball a notable event in the US????....Just curious to know what others think of it....I suggest removing this info...Gprince007 (talk) 16:10, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

    • Well, some of these irrelevant information has already been deleted, like The Veronicas and Katy Perry mentions, for example. I think that the informations about Jingle Ball were better organized so I don't find any reason to delete them. Decodet (talk) 22:41, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
      • Is there really a need to have all the information at the very top about Headstrong and the amount of record it has sold should that be left in the music section isnt it a summary of her Nbeau1989 (talk) 13:05, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Ashley Rocks!

I think that they're could have been some more appealing photo's on there...maybe you guys tell me how and i will replace them with better ones?

And why is everyone talking about the way its set and the text type and stuff....shouldn't we be talking about Ashley? How we like/dislike her?If we think shes pretty?A good role model?

First, we're limited with pictures to what's free. If there's an image that can be proven to be free (public domain or under GFDL or Creative Commons license), then we can consider putting it in the article. 99% of what's on the Internet is not free, though.
Second, as is noted in the header, this talk page is for discussion of the article and not for general chat about Tisdale. —C.Fred (talk) 22:16, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Major Edit Discussion Section

Okay everyone - start talking here and try and work out this content dispute. If you get stuck, go to dispute resolution and try some of the steps there. An WP:RFC may help if you need more editors to look at this. Exxolon (talk) 16:09, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

In the main Ashley Tisdale article which I have been editing for 1-3 days now. The page in the past before my edits included fake awards, Tisdale was never nominated for a Nickelodeon Australian Kids' Choice Awards, the link provided to support this statement does not mention Tisdale nor does it list the nominees, here is the link: [1] Then another award which she supposedly got nominated for which was the Germany Jetix Awards. The links provided to support this statement ([2]) does not show in German that she got nominated for the award. I clicked this: [3] which is what these users posted and I found nothing mentioning the Jetix Awards. Another fake award nominated that got posted it the Nickelodeon Brazilian Kids' Choice Awards, the link posted to support this award (In Brazilian): [4] is a blog. The site's host is Word press and the site does not look reliable at all, the first link posted was an article in Brazilian that when I translated show the pre nominations for the award. The el superficial site was a blog, not just any blog a celebrity gossip blog which is hosted by Wordpress en Español. In the end of this page: [5] the copyright of the site is shown and the host.

Every time I edit on this page, these following users revert my work for no reason listed: Juanacho and Decodet. I put some of effort into fixing the spelling and pun caution errors (In January, 31, 2008, Forth, european etc. ), these children truly need education. And I have absolutely no idea how this article is a Good Article. I found 2 duplicate references, text that has references yet is repeated in another section with a brand new reference, trivial text (In her Music and Influences section, there was something about her singing a pop rock song in a TV movie. Well the song was a Shadows of the Night cover and was not released in any soundtrack nor was it over 2 minutes long. So why is it mentioned in her Music and Influences section?), over linking (over 3 links that are all reliable but are all of these references necessary? There was a very reliable reference from her official site that supported half of the text in her Early Life section that had dozens of references: [6].

All of Tisdale's magazine covers were listed, and most of them referenced. Now is this necessary to list all of the covers she has been on, she has been on dozens of magazine covers.. Notable or not, these two users were searching everywhere to find these links. It was a massive collection of links. To support the text stating Tisdale auditioned for the roles of Gabriella and Sharpay in HSM, t High School Musical Pop Up Edition would be used as a source. When it is just text, not even a link. I found many paragraphs which have been over linked with 2-4 references each sentence stating the same thing.

In the career section there was a lot of references from blogs, celebrity blogs and fan sites etc. saying when Tisdale's promotional singles, real singles, re-releases, music video releases, re-releases for album and singles got released in Germany, The U.K, Brazil, Poland, The U.S. and on. Why list and reference all of the release dates for her album's deluxe edition and Radio Disney promo single? Since all of this is listed and referenced in Tisdale's music pages which include her album page, discography, and on.. There is a large amount of links from Just Jared and Just Jared Jr which is a gossip blog, the site is quite reliable but the site is a gossip, celebrity site that posts rumors as well. Since it would take time and space to list all of her minor television roles, I listed a few of them. Her most notable guest appearances. All of her guest appearances have been verified in the past (IMDB, her official site). So I don't see why two references were added to support her The Hughleys and Still Standing appearances: [7] Honestly I am so sick and tired of cleaning up that article. It gets reverted every time. Gimmetrow and Gprince007 have reverted Juanacho and Decodet's reverts to my trimmed version, but it seems that these multiple accounts are never going to stop reverting. I am so sick of this. Please can an admin please stop this.

Look at these:

I could explain each of these edits but I am honestly too tired to do so. There are many more edits that I would like to explain and show but at this moment I am not willing to do this. Can an admin please sort this out. This article need a lot of serious clean up. Olivewildes (talkcontribs) 14:26, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

I've never reverted one of your edits, you can check. I've just trying to add some reliable sources. But you removed some informations that is not trivia too. For example, there's no reason to remove the record Tisdale has broken on Billboard. Also, I didn't understand why he removed informations such as Degree Girl's covers (there's no article for the songs so the informations should stay in this article), citations in books and other stuff. I agree with you in the rest, because the references for the awards is not working...I'm doing my best trying to find another references but it's not being so easy. Decodet (talk) 16:30, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

For anyone that is wondering, I've already had it checked: Olivewildes is not a FortyFootEcho sock.—Kww(talk) 16:36, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Now to comment on the main issue: yes, this article needs to be trimmed with a chainsaw, and Olivewilde's edits are generally for the better. There may be reasonable disagreement on some issues, but nothing worthy of wholesale reversion of edits.—Kww(talk) 16:38, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

I've been check and Tisdale's official german site really talks about the Jetix Awards nomination. It's the last news. Decodet (talk) 17:15, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Exxolon and Kww: is it appropriate to use internet slang acronym on Wikipedia? Over this issue. Or over any issue for that matter? Because Juanacho used one of those terms in the edit summaries earlier this day: [23]. I am not complaining but is it appropriate? Especially that kind of language... Never mind. I will add the book and it's reference. But I think that for now, the trimmed version is better. The Degree Girl deal involved Tisdale singing 5 1980s pop song covers. Is it really necessary to list all of the songs. In the article it does say that she covered five 80's hit songs for the promotion of the deodorant. The record Tisdale broke was not removed from the article. As you can see here: [24] The record was mentioned in the article two times, duplicate sentence. Since it is already mentioned in the main body of the page/the opening paragraph, I removed it from the career section because it was already in the opening of the page. Did Lucas Grabeel break a record too, since he sang the lead male vocals in those songs? Since you agree on the rest. Am I able to restore the trimmed version but add the Billboard record to the career section, the new album name, the songs she covered for Degree Girl, the book cover appearance and her German Jetix nomination. If that is fine with everyone. Can someone please check on Juanacho. Because his/her edits are quite disruptive in some cases. What do you think? It doesn't matter but he/she was the one who reverted the trimmed version. I find it quite disruptive.--Olivewildes (talkcontribs) 17:20, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

A few points:
  • Redundancy: the first paragraph is supposed to be a summary, and everything in it should be repeated in greater detail in the main body of the article. The question is whether the record is important enough to mention again in the first paragraph.
  • "WTF?" in an edit summary isn't a real problem. Juanacho does tend to be abrasive, and I wish he would be a little less so.
  • Believe it or not, the armpit thing used to be in the article twice, and it had a whole subsection devoted to it. I agree that it needs less emphasis.
  • I wouldn't include the Jetix nomination at all. Is this really such an important award that being nominated for it without winning it is notable?
Kww(talk) 17:50, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Alright, that's better. When you revert it, I'll check if there's another stuff notable to be discussed. Decodet (talk) 17:32, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, Kww's points are something to be checked. I agree with these points. About Jetix nomination, you're right. Tisdale didn't won the award and it's not an very-important award...so, I think it can be removed. About the record, it's the only record Tisdale had broken in all her career so it's notable enought to be repeated in the summary and in the main body. Decodet (talk) 18:01, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Well, I used to keep this article updated and used to copyedit this regularly till 5-6 months ago. But of late i've been very busy and stopped contributing to this article. In the meanwhile, i noticed that too much irrelevant info got added in between and with no one to revert these, some users esp. Juanacho added too much irrelevant trivia and gossip news. Honestly speaking, i didnt have time and energy at my hands to cleanup the article, though i had raised this issue before too (See section above. So i was glad that User:Olivewildes was doin this job well....but sadly a few editors have expressed their unhappiness over this.

First of all, i feel that the article needs to well referenced and well-sourced. One cant list "JustJared" as a "Reliable source" and add whatever they like....so i reverted this...

Also I wanted to know whether these statements are really needed in the article??? :

  • she recorded a version of "Some Day My Prince Will Come"....
  • Tisdale also recorded a cover version of the song "Kiss the Girl" ....
  • Tisdale described Headstrong as a chance for her fans to get to know her better... (Seems like a gossip news or a fan blog)
  • On November 12, 2008. Tisdale along with the High School Musical cast performed live a Christmas version of the hit song "What Time Is It?" from High School Musical 2 during the annual event Walt Disney World Christmas Day Parade.[49] On November 28, 2007, Tisdale hosted a part of the "75th Rockefeller Christmas Tree" in New York City with Nick Lachey and performed a couple of her singles after a small interview.
  • She also covered the 80's hit song "Shadows of the Night" for the film. Tisdale made a special appearance in the credits of the movie Bring It On: In It to Win It, where she performed her single "He Said She Said". (Are these events so notable that her hosting it becomes a notable news???)
  • Tisdale also presented an award in the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards.... (She might present many awards in her life...do we need to put it in an encyclopedia???)'

On December 12, 2008, she hosted the 'Z-100's Jingle Ball in the Madison Square Garden, New York City and two days later she attended the Q102's Jingle Ball 2008 at Susquehanna Bank Center, Camden, NJ.[58] On December 31, 2008, Tisdale joined V Factory and American Idol's runner-up David Archuleta on NewPhoria at McKay Events Center; she was the guest host... Tisdale's A&R Tommy Page stated in his official website that he is working on Tisdale's second album and it is almost done. Also, he said that the first single will reach radios very soon... (Seems more like a publicity feature than a encyclopedic article statement) "Heaven is a Place on Earth" and "Too Many Walls" were available to download in the official site, unlocked only with special codes received in different packages of the deodorant... (Seems like her publicist is adding this to the article !!) On August 5, she made a private concert for the winners of Degree Girl's contest... (Was the concert notable???...was it covered by mainstream media??? If not, then i feel it doesnt belong here...)

I feel there are many more such statements in the article which i feel need not be there....just wanna know what others think of this....Gprince007 (talk) 15:56, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

About what you've stated, I need to do some observations. "Some Day My Prince Will Come" and "Kiss the Girl": I think both are notable, especially the last one, because it was released as a single later and has its own music video. Bring It On : In It to Win It is also notable because it's part of her filmography. Degree Girl's covers: I think it might stay in the article, because there's no article to talk about them. There was one but it was later deleted.
About the line Tisdale's A&R Tommy Page stated in his official website that he is working on Tisdale's second album and it is almost done. Also, he said that the first single will reach radios very soon... , I think we can remove the last part and "Tisdale's A&R" part too... Christimas performances and appearances, VMA's hosting and Jingle Ball's appearances aren't notable and all can be removed. Decodet (talk) 22:57, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Error in Wikipedia Article

Hi when browsing I noticed her years active says 1988 - present. Surely that cannot be right as she only started making tv shows/movies/singing in 2005 and if she did get found out in 1988 she would have only been three. Please look into this. I would change it myself but unfortunatly I cannot edit the "Background Info"

The U.K. Kermode 'award'

The U.K. Kerode award is not a well known and established award in the United Kingdom nor does it have any degree of notability. The winners of the award are chosen by a BBC film blogger/film critic, Mark Kermode as shown here: The Kermodes: Make Your Case According to the BBC link in the main article, ([25]) The winners of the award are picked by Mark Kermode and are his choice. No voting was allowed for the award and a real committee of judges were not hired. Mark Kermode is a film critic in the United Kingdom, his personal picks led to a small award segment on BBC's The Culture Show ([26]) The Kermode Awards do not even have an audience. The 'award' is not notable. It is not a real official, well known, established award. Therefore it has been removed by the article. —Olivewildes (talk) 04:40, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

Add the UK Kermode Award to page

Ashley Tisdale is an upcoming actress, and the UK Kermode Award is a real award, al be it, not a famous one. She still won the award, and is probably very proud of it, as it is the first award she won for High School Musical 3. The more awards and nominations on this fantastic actresses page the better. My additions were undone on the grounds that Ashley says in one of the interviews that the remake will not be her next film... She clarifies that they're still writing that. So of course it's not her next film! Her next film will be something that's already been written, but she makes it clear that she's still attached to the project. I think that this information should be re-added. Akcvtt (talk) 03:54, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

"Appearing" in or "starring" in?

No disrespect to you, Olivewildes, but your choice of word is not accurate in regards to Ashley Tisdale and her role in Aliens in the Attic. With you saying that she “appeared” in that film, you might as well say that Heath Ledger appeared in The Dark Knight; Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Michael Richards & Jason Alexander appeared on Seinfeld, or Billy Ray Cyrus appears in Hannah Montana.

The word “appear” means barely visible or of very small occurance. For example, Dwayne Johnson appeared in Wizards of Waverly Place, or President Obama making a guest “appearance" on Saturday Night Live. THAT is the most appropiate use of the word “appear”.

Again, I reiterate. The word “star” does not always mean main role. Tisdale is A star in the film, but not THE star. Nevertheless, she “star”red in it. Not just merely “appear”ing in it. That is what you don’t understand. A movie and TV show can have more than one star, and 99.9% of the time, that is the case. Usually, it’s one or two main stars, and a group of secondary stars. That is what Tisdale and everybody who I mentioned at the top are in their respect movies and TV shows. They are secondary stars, but there nevertheless “STARS”.

Furthermore, take a look at the Aliens in the Attic article. In the column to the right, it says “starring Robert Hoffman, Ashley Tisdale...etc.” It DOES NOT say “starring Robert Hoffman and appearing in the film, Ashley Tisdale.” Considering how adamant you are on about having her article reads that she appeared it in, why don’t you change the that particular article as well to say she “appear”ed in it.

The bottom line, Ashley Tisdale is a star in Aliens in the Attic whether you like to say so or not. Do not downplay her role in the film by saying she “appeared” in it when everybody knows she did a whole lot more than JUST "appear" in it. KeltieMartinFan (talk) 00:40, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Per reviews, she actually had a quite minor role: her appearance is being exaggerated in marketing campaigns to help attract the Disney crowd, but "appears" would seem to be a very accurate word.—Kww(talk) 01:06, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
If that is how 20th Century Fox wants to market the movie, then let it be. Advantage to them for getting a very popular person like Tisdale to do their film in the first place, and promoted to where she played a prominent role in the film. The truth is, her star power will drive the success of this film. If the film studio didn't think her prescence would make a difference, they would never ask her to play the role to begin with, or perhaps Tisdale herself would turn it down. She's viewed as a star in the film, and that's how it should remain. That's not me saying it, that 20th Century Fox saying it. KeltieMartinFan (talk) 01:20, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Independent reviewers count. The movie's producers, marketing staff, and other financially interested parties do not.—Kww(talk) 02:28, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
I'm not sure I entirely agree with KeltieMartinFan that "appearing" necessarily means only a passing role; nonetheless, I don't see a good reason for not describing Tisdale's appearance in Aliens in the Attic as "starring": I've yet to see a review of the film that doesn't mention her role, most mention it fairly prominently (for instance, as the first or second mentioned actor), and all those I've seen that use the phrase "star" or "starring" refer to Tisdale in that capacity (see e.g. [27], [28]). money and spendings

Tisdale made #6 on Forbes top paid Tweens with earnings of 5.5 million a year. For high school musical 3 tisdale made a total of 2.8 million. For the suite life of zack and cody she 50,000 per episode. this year ashley made 3.1 millon for aliens in the attic. For the other 2 high school musical movies she made around 900,000 per movie. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.162.16.33 (talk) 12:35, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

I don't believe the article you're talking about mentions her specific earnings from projects.Akcvtt (talk) 00:56, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

Asociated Acts

Her asociated acts now are Jay Sean, her sister Jennifer Tisdale, Hilary Duff, Haylie Duff, Miley Cyrus..by the way Vanessa Hudgens, Zac Efron y Ashley Tisdale are no longer asociated acts, because they follow so much differents ways in her life and in her career too. And it would be good put these asocited acts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ashleytspain (talkcontribs) 20:39, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

Other than her sister, has she recorded with any of those acts? I don't see them meeting the definition of associated acts. —C.Fred (talk) 20:46, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

Recent television additions

A user recently added a large amount of television appearances made by Tisdale in the previous decade. All of which were as herself in mainly reality television shows and television specials. The highest amount of reality show episodes she has appeared in is two, which was in the Punk'd series but in a larger scale the appearances are small and she will eventually make dozens of reality show contributions since she is clearly interested in producing and contributed to them. Every reality show Tisdale appears in for 1-2 episodes should not be listed here, look at FA articles as examples. Katie Holmes is a common example where her numerous small and large parts in reality television and television specials are not listed. Only her actual television appearances are listed, she has appeared in over forty programs as herself yet none of them are listed in the table in her page's filmography page and this is because small 'herself' appearances in reality shows and Disney Channel specials are not as notable as other appearances and happen to be abundant. Most Hollywood celebrities have appeared in a wide list of reality shows, E! television specials, Nick/MTV/Disney Channel specials etc. as themselves, the appearances often lack the same amount of notablity as the other appearances and this is why you don't see Katie Holmes' appearance on Punk'd and VH1 Big in 03 in her fimography table. Even an appearance as notable as Holmes' on the The Oprah Winfrey Show is not listed. Anthony Michael Hall is another example, where his Entourage appearance is listed. If Tisdale appeared on a primetime television series as herself, then the appearance will definitely be notable thus should be listed in the tables. There is a huge difference between a reality show/television special appearance as herself and a primetime television show appearance as herself in a program. Cillian Murphy can also be viewed as another example. If this abundant flow of herself appearances on the table continued by the time Tisdale is thirty and lively entertaining, the table will most likely become a huge mess. Well, welcome to the talk page related to improvement to the Ashley Tisdale article. Yes, it's a very limited subject, but such is the nature of Wikipedia. If you have any suggestions on ways to improve the article, please feel free to add them here. Unfortunately, there's not enough space to delve into personal opinions or general chat about Tisdale, so you will need to stay on the subject of the article and possible changes to it. —C.Fred (talk) 17:09, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

Family, and Personal life

Ashley has been dating Scott Speer who directed most of her music videos. Tisdale has also dated Drew Steely and Jared Murillo. Ashley is also an aunt to Mikayla Dawn Tisdale. On February 13,2010 her sister Jennifer Tisdale gave birth to Mikalya. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fairywingz (talkcontribs) 23:49, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

First, Jennifer Tisdale has her own article, so Mikalya should be covered there and not here. As for who she's dated, what reliable sources do you have to back that up? —C.Fred (talk) 23:53, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
Reference 10 says Tisdale is dating Speer and People is a reliable source. Should I add it? Decodet (talk) 17:59, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

What If

Hey isn't What If a single, because I bought that song on i Tunes and it said, "What If-Single." Just pointing that out (98.231.219.50 (talk) 14:15, 29 March 2010 (UTC)) or RSRC

That's probably better discussed at Talk:Ashley Tisdale discography. —C.Fred (talk) 14:35, 29 March 2010 (UTC)
It's not, it was just a iTunes' promotional single so it's not notable. Decodet (talk) 16:38, 29 March 2010 (UTC)

Career

Does no one else realize that she starred in Whisper of the Heart in 1995?! As Yuko?! Come on, guys, get on the ball here. chris 3 April 2010 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.199.64.64 (talk) 23:10, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

That's listed in the film table in 2006, when the English dub was released. Been there for ages. Gimmetrow 23:18, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

Broadway???

saying she appeared in "the Broadway musical Les Miserables" is INCREDIBLY misleading as it insinuates that she appeared in that musical ON B'Way. this girl has never done anything of the sort. what was it, a regional show? less probably - the 50th touring cast? let's not artificially boost resumes with intentional obfuscation of fact. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.43.183.78 (talkcontribs) 12:18, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

Changed from "Broadway" to "a national touring production." Both sources mentioned in the paragraph that she was in a touring production and did not appear on Broadway. —C.Fred (talk) 13:34, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

Inclusion of relationships

I suggest that any relationship that does not result in engagement or marriage does not meet the threshold for inclusion in this article. Elizium23 (talk) 20:58, 18 December 2011 (UTC)

I personally think a two-year relationship is worth mentioning in the article. It is there in a single sentence, I don't see any problem on that. Decodet (talk) 22:26, 18 December 2011 (UTC)

2010-Present

The "Forbes 25" thing

[30] This doesn't appear to be from Forbes, but from someone manipulating Forbes' lists. [31] [32]. Gimmetoo (talk) 12:46, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

Good catch. I knew it didn't come straight from Forbes, but I didn't realize it was that kind of aggregation of some of each year's data. It does not belong in the article at all. —C.Fred (talk) 12:52, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

Musical style

I really don't find a use for this section anymore. It is short, with no relevant information and she hasn't released an album since 2009 and it's clear that her focus now are film and television. Should it be keeped or just removed for being useless? Decodet (talk) 00:20, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

Recording new music?

As a fan, I went to her Twitter, and she confirmed she was in a recording studio, making new music. I have no idea yet if it's for Phineas & Ferb, her guest appeareance at Sons of Anarchy or another TV show she's in. I tried searching a reliable source that said this so I could add it to the main article but I only found Zimbio, which I have no idea whether it's reliable or not. Can someone share their opinion on this? Pedro João [talk] 19:16, 1 July 2012 (UTC)

I don't think it's relevant. She was just in the studio recording music. It doesn't mean she's recording a new album. She could've been there recording just for fun, who knows. We should wait for more solid information before putting it in here. Decodet (talk) 21:31, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for answering. I'll wait until it's reported by a reliable source or the purpose of the recording is revealed by Tisdale's team. Pedro João [talk] 22:20, 1 July 2012 (UTC)

New Image in July 2012

There's a new images of Ashley Tisdale in 19 July 2012:

Please change "At the age of eight, she was cast to play the part of Cosette in a national touring production of the musical Les Misérables." to "At the age of eight, she was cast to play the part of Young Cosette in a national touring production of the musical Les Misérables." because there is a difference in the characters Cosette and Young Cosette, and Ashley Tisdale played Young Cosette.
